Zapatista Boot Tour
Students Taking Action in Chiapas (STAC)
December 2nd 5:00pm Alumni Room, Students Union Building on Campus
It's been ten years since the Zapatistas of Chiapas, Mexico took up arms to
create "a world where many worlds fit." Today, in a climate of paramilitary
harassment and violent poverty, euphuistically deemed low intensity warfare,
the Zapatistas are creating a variety of institutions which function outside
the domination of the state or market.
Members of the Black Star Boot Cooperative recently returned from Chiapas
will be presenting on the Zapatista struggle, economic alternatives to
corporate power, and their solidarity work a non-sweatshop Zapatista run
boot collective.
Join us for a night of slides and discussion on Dec 2nd 5:00pm in the Alumni
Room in SUB, U of A.
this event is sponsored by APIRG.
