I second the character creation options and the "free roam" gameplay. I also loved the images for the monsters and items, game sounds, and quest stories. I like the turn-based fighting system, but I didn't like the AI (especially regarding pathfinding). I didn't particularly enjoy the "Sword Lands" scenarios, as their huge maps became tedious. I like the surprise element in summoning creatures. ^^

Subject: [Realmz Castle] What did you like about Realmz?
Happy Holidays everyone!
I thought I would ask the community, what parts of Realmz do/did you like the best? What parts were frustrating or annoying?
Much like Wizardry, being able create a full and diverse party was half the fun. Having such a broad swath of races and classes to choose from made for some interesting combinations. Tactical combat was always fun and no two battles were ever quite exactly the same, which made things exciting.
I enjoyed how easy it was (after character creation) to jump into a game and play. Even though City of Bywater would be quite challenging in different places, its free-roam and loose storyline made it fun to play and allowed me to try different paths.
I never quite embraced the UI fully, and the font used for much of the dialog was often hard to read. I also never enjoyed using Divinity, despite how powerful it was at the time.
How was Realmz for you? What did you like?
