Description

This group is for the exchange of radio DX audio files, with an emphasis on difficult, unusual or otherwise interesting receptions of broadcast stations in the medium-wave and short-wave bands.

Communication on this group uses the DXers' real names. If you click "Join this group" it is important that you reveal to the moderator and owner your real name and location, and in a line please summarize your DX experience.

This group is particularly useful for DXers wishing to ask for opinions on unidentified DX catches. However, it should be accepted that it is proper etiquette to acknowledge help that you receive in identifying stations in your audio clips. Please state your helpers' names and RealDX in reports of reception that you submit to clubs, newsletters, blogs, other web-groups, etc. The preferred audio file format is .mp3, but .wav would be acceptable. Regardless of the format, please use bit rates of 128 kbps, or less. The space available is not unlimited.

You can make audio clips available to members in three ways:

  1. Upload audio files into a folder in the files section of RealDX, but please post a message to the group to say where your file can be found and what it is about. Relevant information would include the frequency, the date, and the time of reception. It is useful to indicate the language, if known.
  2. Place a link in a message about where your audio file can be found. Please say something about the audio clip such as the language (if known), frequency, the date, and the time.
  3. Post a message to the group with your audio file as an attachment. Please add the language (if known), frequency, the date, and the time of reception. Attachments will not be sent as e-mail but will be available on the RealDX site.

Please do NOT use THIS group for loggings or other DX news. There are many good DX clubs, internet groups, and bulletin-boards that want that information!
