Discussions about RE4a.com modular home designs -- and similar concepts -- with the focus on affordability, energy efficiency and low upkeep costs. Open to discussion is the potential role of photovoltaics, direct current appliances, passive heating and cooling, geothermal heat-pumps and small scale fuel cell, along with climate appropriate design alterations. We want to uncover ways to offer an environmentally-responsible, aesthetically-pleasing, affordable yet modern modular home that meets the dwelling needs of small families, retirees, and empty-nesters in the approaching age of resource scarcity and ever-higher energy costs.
