My mother's maiden name was Rovnak (also spelled Rovynak or Rovnyak by Michael and his children) from my grandfather Paul Michael Rovnak. Paul moved to Rhode Island when he was stationed at Newport Navy Base, & met my grandmother Mary Hendricks then stayed in Rhode Island. Paul came from the StubenvilleYoungstown area in Ohio and I believe he was born in Pennsylvania. My grandfather who was born March 41919 and Died February 31985 in North Scituate Rhode Island. He was Slovakian decent his Parents my great grandparents were Michael born in 1877and Anna(Kvak) Rovnak born in 1883 immigrated from Petrovos, Zemplinska, Zupa Slovakia. Michael had 4 brothers and a 1 sister, George, Andrew, Albert, Paul and Sister Rose or Susan. Brother George married Helen Skvarka, a settled in the Youngstown/Stubenville Ohio is in the late 1800's or early 1900's with Michael Rovnak. They (Michael and George) had twin brothers Andrew (who went to Toronto Canada) and Albert (who went to Toronto Canada). There last brother Paul died in WWI, lived in Pennsylvania and Sister Rose or Susan when back or stayed in the native country. My Great Great grandparents Paul Rovnak and Anna (Talnak) Rovnak I believe stayed in Slovakia. Again I'm looking for any information on my whole Rovnak family so I can stay in touch and get to know my family.
