I've been thinking about that lately, how every act truly affects my
overall being. Every choice I make can be ideal for me if I'm truly
honest about what my needs are. Not escaping into food, even raw
food, is one such choice. Then for me it would be, do I choose
something of spiritual growth like practicing some spiritual
technique or do I escape into something else like watching TV. Some
TV I find healing and uplifting but much of it is just pathetic
behavior.

If I was to report on here, to a thousand people, everything I do and
make it only those things that feel right to me, that would be quite
the accomplishment.

I'd like to say, I think it's helpful to have just the post I'm
responding to in my post, as long as it's not too long. I'm trying
to be understood so leaving in the previous post often helps. Of
course, I do trim much and am always conscious of it.

Nice, humble thing to do. Too time consuming for me though.

I should log everything down and report it to someone, and note the
feeling of reporting it. In other words, find myself not able to
report anything that I wouldn't feel perfectly comfortable reporting
to someone else. Again, in other words, not doing anything that I
wouldn't feel comfortable reporting to someone else about. Still, in
other words, finding God's will for me in all things that I do.

I'm not so interested in my patterns as I am in what I do and such
things as bowel movements I wouldn't record because they're always in
God's will for me.

There, a meal I can be proud of. Some stringbeans, a little
cucumber, broccoli, tomato and carrot. The first couple meals of the
day are so much easier compared to meals as the day wears on.

journalers. I have been journaling on there and it has been great.

He has laid out the site really nice, there is the journal section,
photos, links, a forum. It is definitely worth checking out.

Rich,

You mentioned in an earlier post that you wanted an
avocado but you weren't going to submit to the urge to
eat one. I am new to the raw foods world, so I must
ask why? I *love* avocados and was counting on eating
avocados during and after the transition to raw
foods...are they not an integral part of the raw foods
diet?

Thanks for indulging my question.

Best,
Andrea

No, I never have. I am one of those people that has a difficulty journaling on
the computer, I just like to jot it sown in notebooks. The other thing is I am
pretty private about that kind of thing. Thanks for the idea though! -Angel

   Angel,

Have you ever tried fitday.com ? It's a greeat site,
you can create an open journal, and post the link on
this forum. It provides some cool information.

Hi there, I am underweight due to food allergies that went
undiagnosed my entire life. I have learned a lot about nutrition
throughout this whole diagnosing ordeal and I have learned the right
way for me to gain. I know that there are very few resources out
there for people who are trying to gain weight due to being
underweight and want to gain it healthily and without eating junk
that makes them feel terrible so I am documenting my weight gain
online. If anyone wants their story documented let me know as I'd
like this to be a big resource with a lot of different success
stories!

Hi Lea!
Saw your comment on the raw foods daily digest today
and thought I'd send you my latest comments on the BEST help I've EVER
found:
WATER!!

After reading Dr. Batmanghelidj's books (3 of them so far) during my 2-1/2
weeks
vacation (just got home late Sunday) (www.watercure.com)
Your Body's Many Cries for Water
You Are NOT sick - You're Thirsty!
Water Cures - Drugs Kill
I would recommend that EVERYONE increase their intake of WATER to 2 to 4
QUARTS
of pure, clean WATER (preferably alkaline) a day with 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
in EACH quart of water!
www.celtic-seasalt.com -- from The Grain and Salt Society.

Salt is antihistamine and will even STOP an asthma attack before it becomes
life threatening!
No more toxic asthma inhaler DRUGS with steroids are needed... or you can
cut down dramatically
until just the salt and water complete their clean-up job...
MOST serious and chronic diseases develop in our bodies because of chronic
dehydration!
Especially arthritis and cancer...

The testimonies I read in all Dr. Batman's books convinced me enough to try
it for myself
this past month and I've noticed some BIG changes in me!!
Hair and skin less dry.
No constant fatigue... everyone asks if I ATE the Energizer Bunny!!
My eyes and personality "sparkle" and my health is improving dramatically!

Water and calcium and magnesium are the "battery" for our bodies...
so it stands to reason that increasing intake of all 3 will greatly improve
our health.
I know from taking Hawaiian Noni that it contains sea minerals... absorbed
thru
volcanic soil and ocean water purified by the coral and soil... and would be
useful
in addition to the water in chronic and severe cases of illness or
"disease".

Considering that I had fibromyalgia about 5 years ago
all these changes are VERY welcome to my life.
Now, at nearly 61, I FEEL and ACT more energetically and enthusiastically
about life
than I did when I was 35!! My daughter (39) can't even keep up with me...!

Of course, I've also had 17 amalgams and 2 nickel crowns and 2 root canal
teeth removed
within the past 2 years and swtiched to a mostly RAW diet.
I still eat chicken and fish occasionally
but gave up red meat (beef and pork) over 25 years ago.
I ate a little beef while on vacation... and immediately regretted it!
My body odor returned with a vengeance, along with consipation
and VERY smelly bowel movements.
NO MORE RED MEAT FOR ME --- and I grew up on a ranch (with 4 huge feedlots)
in ND!

Of course the BRAIN will be helped even MORE by an increase in WATER.
Our brains are 85 percent water, so chronic, severe dehydration is one of
the MAJOR
causes of brain cancers. Simply not enough water there to function
properly.
Water carried nutrients and toxins in and out of our cells and is the
substance between cells
as well.

Read Dr. Batman's books and check his website for a more thorough
understanding
of the CRITICAL intake of MORE WATER!! www.watercure.com

I just meant that I was going to try to clean up even my raw food
meals by having meals instead of just grabbing for whatever raw food
I want whenever I want it. If I'm going to eat avocado or anything
else, I want it to be for nutritional reasons and not to appease
awful emotions. Avocadoes are a staple of my diet, they're different
than any other raw food, they have that fatty sensation and they're
not sweet. Very filling compared to lettuce or something like that.
No, I eat avocadoes a lot, and I think it's a good way to get going
with the raw food diet. Some raw food like avocadoes, bananas,
dates, grapes (to some degree), and raw nuts can be binged on for
emotional relief purposes. My goal is to not do that, but if I do,
it's better than eating non-raw.

I'll probably always eat avocadoes, like you said, before and after
the transition. I would like to give up raw nuts someday though, I'm
just not comfortable with them.

Hello everyone.
Just got to share this information. My left hand was very dry and
the skin was pelling off in patches. This has been going on for
probally 3 or 4 years now. (Guess you know now how bad a shape I am
in) Well anyway, 2 days ago I took some grass from my yard and
rubbed my hand with it. About a minute later a was able to rub off
layers and layers of dead skin off of my hand. I keep looking at my
hand in amazement. I have tried Olive oil, raw honey, and a few
other things which helped some but nothing even comes close to how
soft my hand feels now just rubbing the grass on my hand for a
minute. I'm amazed.

Hope you are well. I just tried Jicama and love it! I just cut it up along
with tomato and put some raw ACV,alittle olive oil and some basil and sea
salt and it was good.I think too there is a recipe for Jicama fries if you
have a dehydrator (I don't just yet)

Let us know on the anise as I have not had that.

Be well and have a wonderful Holiday weekend

hi Toni

You said

I think of anise as licorice. I bet I am wrong. What does it look like? I
don't think I have seen it in my supermarket

Actually your right it smells like licorice.

What it looks like
It has a large white bulb at the bottom, their are white stalks with fern
like leaves. They are pretty long 8 to 12 inches.

Kathy,
This sounds like Fennel. Is it the same thing or something similar? I love
fennel and it is great to juice! I have never tried or seen anise (unless
they are one and the same??)

Great to hear that you got quick relief from your dry skin condition using the
healing power of grass. It reminds me of the story Ann Wigmore told in her
book, 'Why Suffer'. Her legs were injured in an accident and were so infected
that the Dr wanted to amputate. She remembered how her Grandmother in the old
country used weeds and grasses to for healing and survival so everyday as she
rested outside in the yard she began to eat the grass around her and put some on
her legs. They healed and no amputation was necessary! Chlorophyl is powerful
stuff.

Here is a link to some info on Jicama....I'm pretty sure it's not the same
thing as anise, or fennel!

ts

It appears to be high in fiber and vitamin c. I tried it for the first time
at a raw foods support meeting/pot luck last month. I really liked it. We
used it as a dipper veg. for raw hommus, sliced lengthwise, thick enough to
dip with. IMO, it's similar to a raw white potato, but not quite as
crunchy. I don't recall a particular flavor, because the hommus was so
delicious and spicy.

What's the best way to remove bathroom mold? There's a small amount growing
around the bathtub and also at the top of the toilet tank.

Bathroom mould likes warm, moist, alkaline environmnet . Clean the surface
one time only with TSP and rinse off, Then spray with full strength
pickling vinegar. The pickling formula is stronger than table vinegar. Keep
a trigger sprayer of vinegar in the bathroom and spray over all grouting or
creases after each time you clean the bathroom, so the mould won't return
and you won't need any more TSP.

I want to become a raw food vender! Does anyone know how much in fees
and training this covers? I would like to do some dehydration of
foods and then sell them! And maybe make some other good raw stuff
for our local town!

Well, another attempt at getting raw today. I'm still having fun
though, even if I don't stay raw, as long as I don't drink and make
myself really sick. I went to see the ballet Swan Lake last night.
Fairly interesting. They showed Smarty Jones on a big, outside
screen that I saw before the ballet. I went to a Civil War
reenactment today, so now I guess I'm in for the night. I ate an
olive Friday night, after seeing someone give a talk on his book
about Bejamin Franklin, and it threw me off my equilibrium, so I
binged Friday night and went ahead and stayed unraw yesterday. But
if I can get in today, then I'm hopeful to be completely reset for
tomorrow and the week ahead.

So far so good. Sometimes it's hard to believe I made it this long. I've been
raw since March 25. My family had pizza delivered Friday evening and the aroma
almost threw me over the edge, but somehow I resisted temptation. Saturday the
Farmer's Market in my area opened, so I was able to buy some homegrown and
organic veggies. I had raw peas for the first time ever. Are they supposed to be
"crunchy"? And my strawberries are ripening, so I've been eating those. Today,
however, I have been having cooked cravings. The smell of the hamburgers and
fries that my family had for dinner were calling to me. And the brownies! Darn
them! I kept eating apples, but I really wanted something "meaty" and "sugary",
and I didn't know what else to eat, so I mixed up some raw nuts (almonds &
pecans) and drizzled them with raw honey. I feel kinda bad because I know honey
isn't vegan, but at least it helped me to not eat a brownie.
Peace, ~*~Mary Ellen~*~
