amateur radio, ratchet jaw club, 3934.5, ham radio
The Ratchet Jaw Club is a friendly and informal Amateur Radio network
(we prefer to call it a club) that meets on the air at 3934.5 kHz every
morning at 0600 Central Time (1100Z summer, 1200Z winter). We are dedicated to good conversation and that first glorious sip of early morning coffee. Our motto is: "We Kick Start the Roosters". Anyone holding a valid license is welcome to join in the proceedings. Most of the club members reside in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and other states in the American Southwest. However, we have had check-ins from throughout North America. The club meeting revolves around the discussion of a timely topic selected by one of the members acting as 'Club Control'. Stations are called upon for comments in the same order in which they checked-in. The club meeting generally lasts an hour but there are often lively exchanges both "pre-club" and "post-club". The Ratchet Jaw Club was founded January 13, 1985 by Al Shell, WA5WYV (now a silent key), to foster good will among ham-radio operators.
