May be of interest. The walk involves a walk along the GN trackbed to
Watnall then a switch to MR where there is a "secret" bunker in use for
plotting from the thirties into the cold war period. Then it's along the MR
trackbed under the restored bridge to the Nelson and Railway.

Please pass on:

A number of Kimberley residents are anxious for a subsequent phase of NET to
go from Phoenix Park to Kimberley and possibly on to Eastwood. They have
identified a possible route which has been walked by a number of experts who
see it as a possibility. This would considerably relieve traffic on the
Nuthall roundabouts and enable residents west of the M1 to access jobs
within the city. Currently the M1 is seen as a barrier to development.

They have arranged a walk along the route followed by a public meeting to
launch a group to support this proposal and hope for support from all
political parties. The arrangements are:

Monday 6 July

Meet 17:00 Phoenix Park tram stop.

Walk to the Nelson and Railway at Kimberley along a suggested route.

Meeting at the Nelson and Railway 19:30 (food available beforehand)

T1 Phoenix flyer bus back to Phoenix Park.

All welcome for the walk and/or the meeting. For further information please
contact.
