The Railroad Marine Operations Yahoo! Group is the official online meeting place for the friends of the RMIG (Rail-Marine Information Group), to discuss topics previously published in TRANSFER, the official journal of the RMIG.
The group will also act as a clearinghouse for all other general inquiries and announcements of current & historical rail-marine content and modeling, regardless of the geographic location or era.
Please visit http://www.trainweb.org/rmig/ for more info on remaining RMIG back issues and rail-marine bibliographies.
Railroad Marine Operations Group Rules (PLEASE READ!)-
1. When posting, please sign your real name, not your Yahoo ID....Not only does it help when others want to contact you off list, but it's just the polite thing to do!
2. When applying to join group, a genuine interest in the subject must be shown. Any "I like boats and trains", "I have a harbor on my layout" or "sign me up" requests will be ignored and/or denied membership.
3. Please minimize any and all excessive quoting. Trim all forwarded messages from other groups, or they will be deleted.
4. Absolutely no "me too" posts!
5. Topics must not stray too far from railmarine operations, history, and modeling, unless deemed relative to the discussion by the moderators.
6. Posting of "FOR SALE","TRADE" or "WANT TO BUY" items is permitted, but MUST BE ON TOPIC and related to rail-marine subjects! Also, replies to such posts should be made OFF THE LIST to the originator of the message. You will be politely warned, but if ignored, you run the risk of being put on moderated status.
7. Absolutely no tolerance for political discussions or personal attacks - one strike and you're out (for good).
Thank you for your co-operation, and please enjoy and participate in the Rail Marine Operations forum!
