Re: Breaking Q92 news

Wow, this is certainly some major news. I'm not positive but Aaron is probably
the senior statesman of broadcasters in Montreal at this point in time. I stand
to be corrected on this but 26 years is certainly quite a run.

I didn't hear the announcement myself. I look forward to hearing more about this
decision and the reasons behind it.

Given the change of ownership of Q-92 from Corus to Astral, people might
speculate that this had something to do with his decision. Hopefully we'll hear
more. It does seem to come at a time when Q-92 is doing very well for itself in
the ratings. I certainly hope that it is simply a personal decision to move on
to other things.

I personally believe that when the history book is written on Montreal English
radio, Aaron Rand will probably deserve a chapter of his own. I feel that his
ground-breaking afternoon drive show on the old CFCF/CIQC 600 is still one of
Montreal radio's shining moments in broadcasting.

Whatever he's headed to next, I wish Aaron all the best and thank him for his
years of service to the community.

Sheldon

I used to listen to Aaron and Tasso during y Ui days and sometimes be late for class just to listen "one more minute". Not a believer in miracles but just this...

Maybe they'll reunite Aaron and Tasso on CHOM in the morning. It would certainly be an improvement over Stock. Pete could then go back to the afternoon...
