Thanks for the reply Kev. I just found a plethora of manuals on the
transceiver. The unmarked transceiver is an RF-350 (RT-1446) Multimode HF rig.
1.6MHz - 30Mhz continuous coverage in 10Hz steps.

While I'm sure he SHOULD send them to you, he is kind of excited to have an HF
rig now to prompt him to upgrade his license. :) I have the feeling he's going
to want to keep it.

Hi Paul,

I'm looking for a decent verion of the SMP6001 also to enable me to program some
Maxon SL25's.

I have downloaded a whole bunch of programs that will run under DOS or Win XP
and some do show the SL70 radio.

If you want them emailing just let me know your email address.

Bye
Richard.

You were hearing the mic.
On the older portables (at least the p110's I have) the plugs are reversed. The
small one (normally the mic) is the speaker and the bigger one (normally
speaker) is the the mic. I have seen that happen before, plug a set of
headphones into the mic plug on a stereo and they will act as a mic.

Hope this answers your question.

went to put it into the socket the radio station played thru my gp300. How and
why is this possible? I had AM on the radio at the time. Around 1025 i think.

You need to look for a cable called "SMP6001"

There are plenty available for sale, just Google "Maxon & SMP6001"

Make sure you add the "Maxon" otherwise you will get 25,000 hits
crapping on about photo images

A friend of mine acquired these in an auction. Does anyone know what they are
and/or what they do?
You can view them here;

I can see that the RF-7210 is an "Adaptive Controller". I can't find any info
on it at all. Yes, I've googled it.
As far as the transceiver, there's no data plates anywhere on it.

Any info would be appreciated. Manuals would be great.

Can the controller control a repeater?

Thanks in advance!

You might try looking on eBay. I got one not that long ago from there, and it
work's perfect. This one plugs directly in to the serial port, and you do not
need to have the serial to parallel port adapter.

The firmware chip is IC108 (non-flashable from PC). Remove top cover,
big chip, top left corner. Should show "FAA"
It is possible to have an older version of firmware. Most current is
"JPWJ". $40
What version of KPG-7D are you using? Last version was 2.1.
When you push the buttons, do they make a beep? Maybe button contacts
are bad.

Good luck.

The KPG7D software is saying I have :

Full 32ch
Single Control Head
Single Band
VHF Hi
150-174

Model : 730SS32F

S/NO. 71000225
FCC ID: ALHTK-730H-1

Main Unit:
KRK-2
34570

Remote Control Head chip:
X24C04P
526I

Problem Details:
The group keys do not work.
The radio will scan 32 channels and stops on active channels in each group.
Can not change from group 1 to group 2.
Home Channel can be programmed for any channel in group 1 or 2.
When programmed for a channel in group 2 and pressed, there is no way to get
back to group 1.

Questions:
How do I check my firmware?
Do I have the correct chip?
Why aren't my group keys working?

I am really getting frustrated over this issue.
Should i send it into Kenwood?
Would they even work on something this old?
Will it be expensive?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
