Its possible the copy of the software you are using was set up by some one else
and then has been saved.  So  as you had an directory issues it is possible you
need to select the correct com port..    Most usualy use COM 1   but some are
set to COM 2   .   Just something worth checking.

Well, that's exactly how it worked with mine.

All the ones I have programmed have been series 1 units, except for one,
with a total of 99 channels. It may be different on a series 2 unit although
we have used the same programming on one of those as well.

The series 1 units use the DOS based programming software and the Series 2
used the Windows based software.

Huh? Scan groups do NOT take up channel positions. We have T2020's with
all 100 channels programmed, and then about 8 or so scan groups including
one user-programmable group.

WE normally number them from 101 upwards. Series 1 or 2.

CPS and other item can be purchased from http://businessonline.motorola.com
After you make an account you'll need to call them and have them approve you for
CPS purchases. This will require you to sign their Software Licensing Agreement.

Hope that helps,

Hi Martin,

Basically, each scan group you want to have takes up one memory channel
position, so, for instance, if you wanted to have 3 scan groups then you
would use 3 channel. In mine I started at CH 99 and worked backwards. I have
about 4 or 5 scan groups. You can give each a name if you wish.

Once you set a channel as a scan group, it then allows you to list the
channel numbers to be allocated to that scan group. I don't remember at the
moment whether there is a limit to the number of channels you can have in a
scan group but I know that you can have a channel in more than one group, in
fact in every group if you wish.
I hope that that has cleared up a bit about how scan groups work and you
will be able to work it out from there. If you are still having problems,
give me a yell and I'll bring mine up and check the finer details.

Once you have the scan groups selected and programmed in, you just select
the memory channel and it starts scanning that group.

73....Eric VK2VE.

Hey everyone I have a dilemma that is yet to be solved... I have a Motorola UHF
GP380 that s a codeplug error. I have tried searching online for a codeplug for
my radio and have been unsuccessful in finding one. This is an asian radio that
I bought off ebay brand new.. The seller provided me with a corrupt CPS cd and I
tried using the US waris codeplug editing program and screwed the thing up. Can
anyone help me in getting this radio working again? Here is the technical
information on my radio.

Tanapa #: PMUE1579A

Version #: R07.06.03

Model Number: AZH25RDH9AA6

I desperately need to get this radio brought back to life. Thanks

Has anyone had success in purchasing CPS from Motorola? I recently purchased an
HT1250 and I'll be needing the latest version of the CPS to program it. I've
heard mention of setting up an online account with them but can't seem to figure
out how in browsing their website. Anyone had any luck or experience with any
of this?

Most likely the software is fine, try creating a new shortcut to the .exe in

channel parameters are on high but still only 5w hence need to tune the pot.

just wiped the radio and starting a fresh trying to suss the blooming scan
groups
can get the scan to light up but it doesn't scroll thru channels ?
should it?
made the scan groups accessible from the panel..do i need to do this?

or will it just scan and when time up revert back to the channel it was on?

if this is the case i will need to extend scan time..

once i suss this out i rekon the radio is a nice thing
just needs the display and button lights changing to blue.

The pot is maxium power adjust, but don't forget you can program channels to
high power (25 watts) or low panel (5 watts) when you set the channel
parimeters.

ha ha...
the light bulb's just lit
does this mean you can only scan 4 channels not 50 at a time

this maybe why i can get it to work..
do you know the maximum scan ?
will be going in the shack tonight .not watching that x factor rubbish..couple
of beers and programming radio

another question ..when you remove the lower case and the radio is on it's back
.there's a small pot you can access thru the heat plates ..is this the power
adjuster
thanks for you reply..

To remove the bracket just get a medium flat head screw driver and carefully
leaver one side of the bracket, it'll just pop off.

I'm not sure about your issue with the scan group, mine was simple. Gave the
scan group a channel number, then a name, then added four scan channels.

Kevin, depending upon the design of your prg'ing cable you might
want to check that the radio is providing 12V to the Prg'ing
cable.. I believe its' pin 6 on the Mic jack..

Also you want to check the radio to see if someone tied the "On the
Hook" line to ground.. This allows you to SCAN without the mic being
"On the Hook".. The problem is, the "On the hook" line is also used
as one of the programming data lines, so if its tied to ground, the
radio to PC connection will not work..

Hope this helps..

-Pete

Thomas,

Considering the high price of the special side connectors, it's probably a
lot cheaper to just buy the RKN4073B cloning cable from Motorola Parts, for
about $45.
