I may be wrong but I think you need a "key" from the agency or whoever owns the
system to promram a trunking systme in a Moto product. This is to prevent
unauthorized persons into the system. The only person that has the key is the
person or company that is in charge of maintaining the system. Basically if you

You are correct in the post you need a system key for the software to load
it into the program to be able to change trunking settings. And if you
change the settings and your radio ID is not what is set up in the system
the system bricks the radio and it will have to be sent back to Motorola for
a reset. Be careful on messing around with being on someone’s system without
permission.

That's how most trunked systems / radios are. You don't simply put in
the frequencies and the talkgroups.

I have a GP380 UHF that is giving me a codeplug error... My question is... Is
this radio able to be flashed into an ht1250 to accept the latest US version of
CPS?? When I got the radio the CPS that was included had a corrupt file, and was
unable to be read. I got impatent and started toying around with a codeplug
editor.... Any chance on my radio being able to be brought back to life??
Someone said that they can flash it into an ht1250 for me for 40$... Just want
to make sure that it can actually be done so I am not wasting my time and money.
Thanks for the help!!

You are correct in the post you need a system key for the software to load

it into the program to be able to change trunking settings. And if you

change the settings and your radio ID is not what is set up in the system

the system bricks the radio and it will have to be sent back to Motorola for

a reset. Be careful on messing around with being on someone’s system without

permission.

You can't program a Kenwood to a trunking system without the key either.

Hahahah don't hate motorola because you didn't do research before you invested
in a radio instead of a scanner.
if you are authorized to be on the system then the city shop or whoever is the
system manager should be able to assist you with with getting your radio up and
running.

I hope you get things worked out.

How many radios did you program to use Kenwood trunked systems?

At one time the Minitor 5 programming software was available for download from
Motorola's website. I don't see it there anymore. Is it still available for
download from Motorola or is it now only available for purchase?

Thanks,

Andy

Bill,

The schematic of the NMN6193 remote speaker mike, along with similar
information on many other HT1000 and Jedi-series portable accessories, is
found in service manual 6881200C30, which is still available from Motorola
Parts (800-422-4210) for about $3. That's not a typo- three bucks!

Slightly OT, but it is radio controlling....

Has anyone got experience in programming Zetron M284 desktop tone
controllers?

I see that the unit has a RJ45/RJ11 underneath for hooking it up to a
computer. Is that a straightforward serial port (pinout?), and is it
just a case of knowing the necessary commands?

If that's the case - does anyone have a PDF of the programming manual?

Regards

Rob.
