\i've been trying to program a Motorola GM1200 and all seemed ok but
the TX did not work after programming.
I loaded a new codeplug from the programmer which matched so far as
type went and this has resulted in a display of 'RADIO ERROR 4'
It seems like the codeplug is not correct or I'm using the wrong RSS or
something?
Anyone had this and what is 'Radio Error 4'
ANy help would be appreciated.

Does anyone know what software the Kenwood TK-240 requires?
I am in need of a good copy for one I have purchased for the local EMS boys.
I may already have it and just don't know where to find out which one to
use?
Thanks again to all!!!

I have an XTS3000 model#H09UCC9PW5AN, flash code 100004-000000-4 I bought it
cause local PD's are on 800 however I am not able to hear anything cause they
are scrambled and without the system key I cant program talk groups or trunking
so this radio is useless to me It will come with just the radio and antenna NO
battery or charger. Cosmeticaly it ia 8 out of 10 on the side it has NYCHA
engraved on it, but the case can be easily switched. I am asking what I paid for
this unit $215 and that will include shipping. I will take and prefer paypal any
interest please email me.

Aha! Thank you for THAT tidbit of info! Seriously! I'm going to check
into one to play around with. I thought that I was being fed a
"company line" when they emailed me back.

I dunno... *I* like using LMR stuff for ham freqs. Depends on my
budget at the time. Or freebies from businesses upgrading etc.

That part I was aware of. However, I had read that if the antennas
are separated by enough space that in-band would work. (this obviously
is no good for mobile use)

> As to ID'ing, that's only required in the Amateur service.

Um..... I was under the impression that commercial stations, public
safety and GMRS had to ID. All of the ones I listen to ID fairly
regularly. Some even in CW.

Yeah, I know the 121 is VHF.....I just threw GMRS in there.

> Re: the F121's being easy to make into repeaters:

I was just going by what he was saying. I assumed he was wanting to
be able to use a HT outside the vehicle (or where ever his setup was
going to be). This is what I'm wanting to set up where I live. I'm
out in the boonies and cannot hit any repeaters (except 2 local ones)
without using my base.

Either way, thanks for the answers, cause you've helped me out some
now. Especially on that SVR-200.

If I am not mistaken that would be kpg89d for this radio.

If I am correct then I do have that one.

If not please let me know what it is and I will see if I can find it for you

Ok this may seem a bit strange but here goes,

I have a small repeater which utilizes 2 GM300 mobile radios.

When I received the unit 2 years ago I was 'tinkering' with the programming and
ended up leaving the project to do something else. unfortunately I left it with
the programming "not quite right" and after 2 years i'm a little lost as to how
it was originally set up.

I am hoping to 'play with it' in a couple of weeks and was wondering if perhaps
someone would have a RSS file for such a critter. I am not looking for the
Software as i should still have that but rather a copy of a working setup that i
can take a peek at to remind my self how these things are programmed.

Thanks in advance

Jim S

Well.......

I have it on good authority, that if you use the DOS based
programming software, they WILL go OOB.

But, the original poster never said anything about ham.
Don't know anyone who chooses an F121 to do amateur unless they have
some commercial freqs in it also.

In-band extenders almost never work. Too much desense.
I used to have problems with /\/\ Pac R/T's, and they were 1/4 watt
transmitters.

As to ID'ing, that's only required in the Amateur service.
Commercial are covered by the original licensee.
F121's can't do GMRS [wrong band].

Re: the F121's being easy to make into repeaters:
He's not looking for a 'repeater'.
He wants to be able to talk back thru one of the F121's to the system
he's listening to. That's a lot more complicated control than just a
simple repeater.
