There are two possible software passwords... the first is to read
the programming from the radio and the second is to be able to write
over the current data. Make up a simple programming file and try
to program the radio by writing over the current setup. If you can
write the radio you're back to square one all the way around. If you
need a data write password the radio needs to go back to Kenwood or
a proper Authorized Service Station to have the radio unlocked.

And like the other guy posted.. you could trade or sell it to me.

:-)

cheers,

bid, $309 Buy-It-Now. Tad pricey for the radio, IMHO.

My .02 cents on this.... If you're referring to the SVR-200, Pyramid's
Tech Dept. swears on a stack of service manuals that their SVR-200's
will not go out of band down to the Ham freqs. *IF* that is true, and
I am in no way taking *THEM* at their word, then the SVR-200 is only
going to help if he's wanting a MobEx for LMR or GMRS.

His F121 are repeater ready, all it takes is 2 of the OPC-617 cables
and an adapter to mate them together. BUT, I dunno if that gives him
anything like ID'ing etc.  See this eBay ad;
30355QQihZ016QQcategoryZ56987QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem>

I'm still thinking about getting a SVR-200 off of eBay to play with.

You might even reset the flex cable from the case to the board.

Try monitoring your TX freq(rptr input) with a scanner for audio,if its
there there may be an issue with the repeater if not there check with a
speaker mic if you have one. I cant remember having a mic problem with
these and we have a fleet of 30 +.

Good Luck!

Actually, turns out it was never a problem in the first place. I was
in fact overpowering my scanner and my friend must have just made a
mistake. I made contact with another HAM just fine and am set to run.

For some reason repeaters wont accept my audio. I key the PTT, and
say "KC9MLP test", but all my scanner does is give me the courtesy
tone, none of my voice. I tried having my friend in Milwaukee tune
his scanner in to make sure I just wasnt overpowering my own, but all
he gets is the courtesy tone as well. Any help?

All kidding aside, wouldn't it be prudent to purchase the service manual for
the Minitor III, and use the instructions contained therein for performing
maintenance thereon? Call 800-422-4210 to identify and purchase the manual.

Good luck finding info on standard gx models buddy with this group or
anwhere else I have been looking for 2 week I got a killer deal on a gx3200 that
works but all I found was a cheap program cable on Ebay and software under files
on this site but finding a manual, and you will need it on these radios, is
