Latitude D600 should be using the built in com port as a native COM1 as
the pointing device and touch pad ARE NOT BOUND TO A COM PORT

I don't know if a dell latitude is a desktop or laptop, but if it's a
laptop
I suspect you will need to try COM2 as most laptops have COM1 as the
pointing device.

Absolutely correct. As you see I transposed the number to TK-390.

The software for a TK-930 is KPG5D. DOS only, never tried it on anything
faster than a PII 500. KPG38D is for programming a TK290/390

The software you need is kpg38d. It can be found at several web sites if you
cannot find a dealer.

Just a note. It is best to start a new thread or topic with an off topic
question such as yours. This helps lessen confusion as to who is answering
what questions or topics.

Hi All;

I know this is something that is probably on the Radio Shack Website, However I
wasn't able to find it on their web site and I did a search for it and the only
one I found so far was one that one that looked as if it was ran though a bad
copy machine and then turned into a PDF file.

I am looking for the manual and possibly the scamadics for the Radio Shack PRO
31 for a friend of mine at work.

Any leads or ideas please.

After changing the value I am able to set that number by hitting the
AUX button.
I am also wondering if there is any online documentation on this
radio. I have three of the them and would like to get to know more
about them other than the software program, which I have pretty much
figured out.

Region not supported means you are using software from a different
region of the world than the radio.

CM300 radio is a US model. You must use US software for this. The same
radio is marketed under different model numbers in different regions.
Example Latin America, Asia, and Europe. Your software must match your
radio. I would guess your software is for one of the other regions.

Before anyone asks, I can not send this software. Hope this info helps.

What, if anything, in programming would cause an MDX mobile not to
mute/detect data stream events after a user unkeys?

Keep getting a loud noise burst similar to a squelch tail and a
couple "beeps" during receive.

The radio follows talkgroup and frequency tracking just fine.

Signal strength is full quieting.

Hi
I trying to program a CP200 but being UK based don't have a USA copy of the
CP200 program. In the UK its called the CP040 but is fundamentally the same
radio but the CP040 program cannot program the CP200 radio.
Can anyone help out ?

Many thanks

David,
You're right on the money with your suggestion on Com ports. I changed the Com
port, and the software (version 1.10, not 2.0 like I had thought) worked great.
I now have the frequencies in place and working fine. Good Call.
Thanks for your input on this issue.
Chris

  Hi Bhwa,

  Here's some thoughts:

  1. The last CE20 that was released was v1.12 as far as I know. If
you have a "v. 2" of something, check carefully to be sure that it
  really is CE20 for VX-2000.

  2. If you have a Vertex factory-made VPL-1 cable, hopefully you are
using a newer one made with round black cable and NOT flat white
cable. The ones made of flat white cable often don't work on VX-2000
  and later models.

  3. When the radio is connected to the programming computer and CE20
has control of the COM port, the CH 1 LED on the radio should blink.
If it doesn't, the radio is not in programming mode. Check:
  - No other driver software (like a mouse driver?) is using this COM
port. This is often the hidden culprit in failure to communicate
problems, even when some other Vertex CExx programs WILL work ok.
  - Correct COM port is selected in CE20 (File -> Configure).
  - No dislodged contact pin in the radio's mic jack (I have actually
  seen this).

  4. If the CH 1 LED IS blinking when connected, select Radio ->
Upload and, when prompted, press the A button on the radio to send
the data into the computer. Once complete, you should get something
similar to "Old data not saved. Load new data anyway?" and a Yes/No
selection. Select Yes and the new data (that which was just read
from the radio) will appear on the screen and be available. Edit
this data, then send it back to the radio via the Radio -> Download
  function.

  5. (Again, if I remember correctly) During download, CE20 will
just "dump" programming data out the COM port without requiring a
checksum handshake at the end. Thus the process appears to have
completed, but the old data is not overwritten in the radio if the
data doesn't actually go all the way through. The only ways to
  confirm are:
  - Upload from the radio to see if new data is in fact present, or
  - Check operation on new frequency(ies).

If none of this helps, please re-post to the Group the details of
your computer, OS, VPL-1 cable, and CE20 version and we'll see if we
can sniff-out the problem. Good luck.
