I currently have a box of switching power supplies that are used with the P200 bank chargers. The label reads, Astec Model, AA16330V part # 25R05237R02. From Astec I got back a message that these are proprietary and they would not provide any info (Motorola's way of getting you to buy a new one). These units are labeled 10a @ 12.5v or 7.5a @ 16v. There is a 3 wire output plug with red, black and blue wires. I was going to try to use these as a stand alone 12v supply for powering radios for the hams when we do Red Cross disasters but when I connect a load (60w 12v light bulb) across the red/black pair the voltage just drops to zero on either setting. I am guessing the blue wire is some kind of voltage feedback but don't want to blow anything up if I am wrong. If someone has a schematic of the P200 charger so I can find out where that blue wire goes, I would appreciate receiveing a copy or even an explanation of what the supply is looking for on that wire.

My fax # is 303-526-0360 or an email scan of the schematic can be sent to me direct at kc7gf@.... Thanks, Art

Don't forget, RSS License part number: RPX-4719G. Remind them that
you are NOT a dealer, and do not want to be. (They may try to tell
you it will entail a minimum order of $1000.00).

I can send you the eprom section of the schematic with the pinout of
the P2 connector. That will give the eeprom programming pinouts.

I will send it to you direct, just e-mail me direct at kc5jdg@

Sure - Call Motorola Parts and ask for a hard copy of their
software parts list - it's in the front of the booklet. 800-422-4210.

Hi Tony,

I'm new to this group, and new to programming radios if it comes to
that. I noticed earlier this year you put out a request for the
programming software for the tk-715, did you have any luck? I have 9
of them and was wondering what the chances are of converting them
onto the UK amatuer bands (if any). If you managed to get the
software and the cable pinouts for this radio is it possible you
could let me have a copy or let me know where I can get them from.
Any help you can provide on programming the tk-715 will be very
gratefully recieved.

Best Regards

Dave Buckerfield

Use the standard MT1000 software, and "add" the channels as you
need them - I don't remember which F-key this is under, but you just
need to add the channel capacity that you desire.

No, you can't. The original Motorola programmable radios were
stocked with the "standard Motorola PL/DPL list," and that's all you
could choose from. I know, because we have entities with non-
standard DPL freqs that bought Vertex because it could take the
non-standard DPL, and their Moto-mobiles wouldn't. The NEWER radios
DO take non-standard, and that's fine.

BTW, an HT90 is a crystal radio, and takes the little white plug-in
PL-DPL chips to operate the tone board... Programming doesn't apply
here.

Most likely all are VHF or UHF, as low band is ot
available in some of these models.

MT1000 50-150 each
GM300 50-250 depends on model - number of channels and wattage
Maxar 80 0-10 bucks, depending on how desperate the purchaser is
HT600 50 bucks
HT90 15 bucks
HT50 50 bucks
Maxtrac 300 50 to 200 depending...

Maxars 0-10.

All depends on how good, number of channels, wattage, etc.

Hi Chester,

It doesn't have a keypad unfortunately. Battery has five contacts on bottom
& speaker mic connector are two barrel plugs on the top of the radio. I
haven't see a BK with this, only the large connector on the side. Mine has a
programming connector on the right side.

Thanks for replying!

Our shop has put in several Yaesu VX1000R's; very simple to program, set up,
install & use; 16 channels, selectable power (0.5W, I think, 1, 2.5 & 5
watts.) DB-9
connector for interfacing to the host radio, front panel mic. connector. Can
even be used as a low-power mobile!

Look near the serial number.
There will be a 4 letter code, such as HDUA or RDHA or something like that.
look at the third letter. U is UHF, H is for VHF.

I think we priced them around $900 last month,
But they do have on the web site how to make cables from their radio to many other radios, that might help put a Pac-RT onto your radio. and for $50 off e-bay lots cheeper
