Ok, this is a tough one! :)

Take a DB25 and jumper pin 6 to pin 11 and stick it on your parallel
port. That's it!

Note that it only works on certain versions of TK, I think version
1.6. :(

We've also been told that some dongles are using pin 6 to pin 13.

From Batlabs web pages

Hi to all.

Some Bozo decided to ressurect my dongle as a fully fledged piece of
computer hardware but forgot to make a note of the carefully placed
strapping accross pins '@' and '$'.

Is there anyone out there who can tell me what '@' and '$' are. So
that I may enjoy a rteturn to sanity and the aforementioned Bozo can
look forward to a reasonable length of life.

Cheers

Nile.

thinks it's 99 channels. :( Please email off list if you have one.
TIA to all!

Glad I could help. If any of your radio buddies, or anyone else out there, has a
schematic for the Mostar Interface Box (different from the standard RIB) let me
know, I've been trying to find it with no luck,

pass along to some of my radio buddies. Yeah we can fix SMT boards,

I posted this to a BK group a while back, but it applies to any software that
uses serial ports.

I'm using a USB to Serial, works great. Not just with my BK software but with
many other applications. I'll admit, being a computer guy helped, and since I
was doing this for the whole company (we need serial but our new laptops didn't
have it) I was able to spend some real time on it and test the solution.
Key points;
It will only work with Windows software. DOS addresses the I/O memory address of
the port directly so it must be a real serial port. Windows software addresses
the "com1" (or 2-4 etc.) driver of the Operating System (OS). What the driver
interfaces to the application doesn't care. You will have to make sure the "com"
address is between 1 and 4 (My modem uses 1 so I put it on 2) since most radio
software will only address those. And don't get one of the USB to serial
adaptors that are intended for a PDA (Palm etc).

If you have to use DOS software, there are many PC Card (PCMCIA) adaptors that
will provide a true serial port with the standard I/O address. Just make sure
that they don't conflict with you modem.

Regardless of which is used always make sure that you set the port speed in
"Device Manager" as well as the application.

Hope this helps

As I always say, when it doubt, DOS it! Moto and DOS (SERIAL) is the
ONLY way I go, granted, there are alternative to the Moto RIB, windows
just doesn't do it.

I folks. I have recently purchased a Tait 2020 series I second hand
and have been so far having no luck trying to program it. The display
comes up with - PROG - and the call, stat, chan & alph lights are on.

If I turn it on whilst holding down a button I get VER 1-02 which I
am guessing is the firmware version. I have removed the cover and
noticed that one of two LED on the circuit board are flashing. There
is a ML1 and a ML2 and the ML1 is the one that is flashing.

I cannot see any other obvious faults but short of it looking like
burnt toast, I wouldnt know what else to look for.

I didn't pay that much for the radio and it was sold "as is" so I am
not too disappointed but I just hoped that I may be able to just load
a file from my other 2020 into it and away it would go.

Any ideas would be appreciated likewise if there is anyone in the
Melbourne AU area that may be able to take a look at it I would be
most grateful.

Cheers
John

Not AFAIK. Moto RSS uses the serial port. Yes, there are USB adapters that
allow you to plug a serial cable into your USB port, but it's a windows
based driver, and we all know what Moto thinks of Windows...

Tk840 is a 400Mhz radio
FCC ID # on back of radio
840-1 Band 450-490
840-2 Band 490-512
840-3 Band 403-430
840-4 Band 430-450

When you program the radio you must select the band in the programming. To enter
ham bands and 450-460 band select the special 1 option in the band selection.

Good luck.

far no luck. I enabled option H297 for the Manual Telephone Interconnect but
so far no joy. :( Am I missing something else here? I have a 5D CORE and a
5C COPE. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

HI to all.
I'm looking for motorola GM1200 with control head I.
I tried to upgrade it in a 2100 without success and only after I read in a doc
that the GM1200 with control head I, not support the upgrade. Now I would
resuscitate the radio because it give me the error 90/01but if I change the head
it work.
Someone can help me for the right procedure to save this radio?
Thanks in advance,
tureee2003
