ANI = Automatic Number Indicator.   Is mainly used in fleet applications so that once the PTT is
depressed or released the ANI number will transmit preset numbers (usually at 20mS).
Then the base operator can see on his terminal what unit just transmitted on his ANI decoder.

Using the [F1] key in the PRM80 software on that particular field will display a help window.

Hope that this helps.

Mick.

Excuse my ignorance as I am very new to the game, but can anyone give
me a hint as to what the ANI settings of my philips PRM8020 are
about?  I don't know what it stands for or what it does.

Thanks,

G'Day and how'z things going??

From memory, and it's been a longggg time playing with these radios,
there is a switch inside you must throw and then you programme via the
keypad and they have around a 30mhz spread. But I could be wrong on
that 30mhz bit. There is also an eprom (2716 series) vers around too.

SORRY I couldn't be of more help!!

Well, my last message was right off the track. The EXP switch is for
expansion channel programming, nothing to do with programming the
actual frequencies.
I found information on the EXP programming in a manual for another
radio type of the same manufacturer. Back to square one.

Hi All,
SUNSAT (SO-35) is now off
It is running 100% in daylight so the command team in South Africa (its a

According to them this might last until much later this year.
When SUNSAT was on over SA we lost the ability to use APRS on the weekends
as it was run as a VHF>UHF repeater whilst in our airspace.
There is a website for this sat at http://sunsat.ee.sun.ac.za

Hi there,
I'm looking for info on the Tait 2020 Radio. I have one thats set
to a high band freq. I need to be able to set it to the lower 66mhz band. I
have heard that you need to program it with a PC through the Mic socket.
Does anyone know whats required to program this radio, as well as any info
about how to actually change the frequecy, or even any relevant web sites
that might be of use.

I don't know if its relevant but the actual radio has the label
T2020-321-F04. And I am based in Europe.

Hi Dave, Yes these sets can be programmed from a Pc however they are band
specific as regards hardware ie 66-88Mhz low vhf 146-174Mhz for hi vhf
and 420-470Mhz for uhf or some suchlike spec. To mod hi vhf for low vhf
which is what I think you are after would require major!! internal
surgery.

Hi Graig
The following is the level translator circuit for all the Yaesu/Vertex
  radios.2011/7011series,1000 series, 2000 series,and handhelds like
FTH 2008/2010 etc.
It's not exactly as the original but I think it will work properly.
In your site you have it as:
"Not sure what model this is for. - vertprog.jpg"

Anyone have the schematic of an interface to program a tait t3020?
Or the pinouts for the top connector so I can try to figure it out.

G'day all, today i'm just asking if any one has the Motorola RVN4100 Radio
Service Software. This is for the XTS3000 analogue/digital radio. If any one
can e-mail me a copy or tell me where i can grab a copy from it would be a
great help. Thanks

Hi Folks!
Can anybody please help with some advice on programing a Kenwood
TK250?

I managed to get a copy of the KPG23d software from a kind gentleman
in the US (whose email address I
lost when my ISP changed), which looks to be the correct package.

I then built a stripboard copy of the KPG22 programing interface
circuit I found on the website http://w3.pca.net,
which is also labled under the schematic as "Prorammator TK-278
(analog KPG-22) for software KPG-27D". Despite
this obvious difference in the software#, I had gained intel that it
*should* work.

But (yes, you've guessed it!!), I cannot read/write to the TK250!

My bread-board build-up looks 100% ok, and no solder bridges (except
I
cannot source 2T306A transistors:
I had to use European BC547s). But my PC just won't talk to the rig
at all, so I now have to wonder:

	 * is it the wrong programing interface circuit?
	 * does the PC serial COM port have to be specially set (other
than 9600 8N1)?
	 * is my problem really because the rig is a TK250E?
(so ECHO=European ;-)

I'd really appreciate some help, here in Scotland! Can anyone advise?
Thank you, I would love to get back on 2M!

Hello

You need to put the radio in program mode so do the following

turn radio off
hold the bottom button under the ptt and also press and hold the button next
to the on/off vol knopb and turn the radio on while holding these buttons
wait for the radio to show pgrm (or) PC i don't remeber on the display.
knopw try to read your radio. If this don't work you may need a newer copy
of the software...

Hello, Im getting ready to order this software and was wondering if
any of the list-users are using it to program Syntor-X low band
radios? Also, if you are, what EEProm burner are you using? Thanks,
Adam
