Karen,

LOL, I have a letter that clearly asks me back! I find it so amusing that I, a tiny fish in a big pond, am foder for the rumor mill. I would love to hear more about this amazing life I keep hearing I have as well.

Thank you for your reply and the replies of others. It helps me with perspective as one of the rumors was that you were not asked back.

I am sure there will be some sorting out.

On a somewhat related note... Usually by this time they're offering early sale of passes. I usually pick up a few FoF passes for xmas presents, but haven't heard or seen anything yet this year... Anyone heard anything about being able to buy passes before the 25th this year?

Greetings
At last I have all of thanksgiving Friday and Saturday pic's finished. I left early Sunday morn to return to Austin so there are none for that day. The Redhead album is up now as well but the count is smaller than last year as I have a new (and welcome) distraction in my life so I was paying more attention to her that what was going on sometimes, you ladies will understand I am sure.

How Scotland was created

At the beginning of time God was discussing the creation of the world with the Angel Gabriel. Leaning back in His golden throne, He told him of His plans for Scotland.

"Gabriel," said God, "I am going to give Scotland towering mountains and magnificent glens resplendent with purple heather. Red deer will roam the countryside, golden eagles will circle in the skies, salmon will leap in the crystal clear rivers and lochs, and the surrounding seas will team with fish. Agriculture will flourish and there will be a glorious coming together of water with barley to be known as whisky. Coal, oil. and gas - all will be there. The Scots will be intelligent, innovative, industrious and......."

"Wait a minute!" interrupted Gabriel. "Are you not being just a wee bit too generous to these Scots?"

But the Almighty replied, "Not really. I haven't told you yet who their neighbours are going to be!"

I have put the links to some of the Gaelic webpages per request. I hope
everyone enjoys them. Remember though, you will only get better if you apply
them in your lives and start using the words with each other. I am also VERY
overjoyed in the high interest of my native language. It make me proud to be a
part of this group and this interest does me honor. Thank You! :)

Thank you so much for helping us to look past all those gaudy decorations to the true meaning of this blessed season. As a business owner it gets harder each year to feel the Christmas moodEveryone running and grabing what they want most never giving a thought as to why . Superficial Christians going throught the actions .We have always celebrated the twelve days of Christmas, My grandfather was born Jan 5, so the whole season was special.  We own a Florist shop and are always in a rush to decorate everyone else's homes, by the time we get to ours its hard to feel the spirit. You have helped to give it back.

Happy New Year!

No I'm not early.  Tomorrow is the first day of Advent and the first day of the Christian Year.  The next four weeks are spent by the church in reflective anticipation of the coming of the Lord.  Almost a mini lent.  That is why a lot of older traditional Catholics do not party or decorate at this time.  The Catholic churches do not decorate on the inside until Christmas eve when it is a big time of greening the church.  Then the celebration begins on Christmas Day as Christmas season begins and lasts for 12 days.  Ever wonder where the song came from?  My protestant upbringing causes me to decorate a little more each day and then I make my family leave things up for the entire 12 days.  Makes my wife crazy!

But I really wanted to send greetings to you all and let you know you are in my prayers.  As we rush around looking for that perfect gift (unless you are one of those irritating people that do your shopping all year and are finished)  take a moment to reflect on why we celebrate.  We all received the perfect gift a little over 2000 years ago, a little child destined to die on a cross for us.  And all he ever asked was for our sins, love God, Father Son and Holy Sprit, and love each other as He loved us.

Blessings,

putting them in the links section of the group site would be a good idea as well .... that way they are acessible to new recruits as well as those of us who have been around for a while.

Hello... I know I don't get to reply much on the message board but I saw something that caught my eye. I was noticing many people with an interest in Gaelic. As some people in our group knows, I am from Scotland and and was taught Gaelic from my grandfather and mother. I was going to give some websites to my ex-girfriend to help her learn because I had little patients with teaching her, but if anyone wants these websites then send a reply back. It will teach you the letter combination and how to say the words. Hopefully this will help some people to be able to see the words and pronounce them. :)
