Q-Saints: A list for Saints out of the ordinary.

Q-Saints is an open and welcoming community of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, and intersexed (GLBTI) people from LDS backgrounds, as well as their friends and families.

This community is administered by members of Affirmation: Gay and Lesbian Mormons, though membership in this organization is not required to participate in this group. If you desire further information about Affirmation, please visit www.affirmation.org.

The purpose of Q-Saints is twofold. First, it exists to discuss issues of concern to GLBTI individuals with an LDS background. Second, it is a safe and supportive place for GLBTI Mormons to come out and to get honest answers to questions they may not be able to ask elsewhere.

Further, the purpose of this list is *not* to debate the "rightness" or "wrongness" of being gay. We accept that we are GLBTI children of God. Our sexual identity is an inherent part of who we are, and we consider it a good thing.

Q-Saints participants come from diverse backgrounds and philosophies. We make no judgment concerning your standing in the church--whether you're active, inactive, disfellowshipped, excommunicated, or somewhere in between. You will find, however, that many on the list are unapologetically out of the church and have strong feelings on this topic. If you wish to proselytize, expound the glories of the Mormon church, or call us to repentance, you will likely receive a strong reaction.

Given the above, any subject may be discussed within the realm of good taste and respect for others. Although this is not an "adult" group, discussions sometimes include mature subject matter that may not be appropriate for younger readers.
