The Public Journalism Education group provides a forum for journalism educators and practitioners with an interest in civic or public journalism. The discussions will primarily focus on issues and challenges facing journalism educators as they incorporate public journalism assignments and/or classes into existing curricula, brainstorming for solutions to such challenges, how journalism schools respond to the changing technological and social needs reflecting in the public journalism movement, and developing a research agenda for the immediate future. This discussion group will work as an extension of the Public Journalism Education subcommittee initiated by the Civic Journalism Interest Group of AEJMC.
