Pub Bicycle Users Group (PubBUG) and the Melbourne Joel Veitch Appreciation Society are cultural organisations based in Melbourne, Australia that are primarily devoted to the pursuit of fine dining, sparkling fizzy amber-coloured beverages, good company and talking endless crap about bikes and esoteric topics of conversation.

All denominations & various genders are especially welcome. It doesn't matter if you ride a 20 year old Speedwell or the latest downhill beast.

Recently (friendly) factions have appeared within the PubBUG ranks, with splitters forming new groups such as W(h)ineBUG, JavaBUG, BeerBUG, EspyBUG and HomeBrewBUG.

At we ask is please don't be boorish or loutish in behaviour or drink massed-produced rotgut. Any aimless twaddle concering politics will be frowned upon. Leave your "attitude" at the door, and have a good time amongst friendly bike fiends.

Mission Statement: to ensure all drinking establishments in the Melbourne area have safe and secure bike parking. Failing that, comfy chairs and big windows, from where we can observe our bikes.

Apparentely it is not longer an offence to be intoxicated and in charge of a bicycle in the state of Victoria. But if you're going to be irresponsible, be prepared to take the consequences.
