A few of the denizens of this list, myself included, are planning to
attend the Magnolia Beach, Texas messabout at the end of the Texas 200
raid this coming June. Shorty, the guy who organizes the messabout,
has proposed a proa race off the beach, and asked me to make a page to
promote it on the wikiproa. So I did. It's here:

http://wikiproa.pbwiki.com/Texas+Proa+Championships

I would appreciate any input on the race format.

Kevin

I see no diference from western racing - if you are to windward of your opponent prior to shunting you got the right of way and your opponent must bear away...

G'day, No reason why they should not do a 360. If the boat cannot withstand sailing with the wind on the wrong side, it probably should not be racing. it is...

I can do a 360, by dropping the sail and paddling so that the windward hull rotates to leeward and round again to windward, then rehoist sail, but I don't...
