Greetings Colleagues
I am writing on behalf of the Lifer's Group Inc, in Massachusetts; a nonprofit organization started by lifers, who chose to serve their time, doing productive work, both, within and outside the prison setting. Many of you may have heard of the 95 year old incarcerated male. All efforts by other prisoners and advocates, to have him freed, failed and subsequently, the Lifers' Group, Inc. decided to venture out on its current project, to have a "Compassionate Release Law passed."
The LGI, has done wonderful work in helping others, including the victims of Hurricane Katrina. They collected funds from their group to send to the Red Cross during that disaster and they have done so much more, to help others in Massachusetts and beyond. I have attached a copy of their brochure and their request for assistance.
I am asking everyone to please call and/or write letters of support, on behalf of the Lifers' Group, Inc. and their efforts to bring about a very needed project. All letters and calls should be directed to the following:
