Re: RE: [pomomc] 2010 Convention Question

Judi,

I am from NPMOMs and have told Joy that I would get her info for the PA sales tax exemption application.  there is a difference.  You have to have this or you pay sales tax.  As long as you are registered in PA as a non-profit and have a PA id number (which it sounds like you do) then you have to fill out an application to be sales tax exempt.  It's a real pain in the neck but it saved us $1400.   I do corporate state income taxes for a living, but I don't deal with sales tax.  I consulted with a friend who does alot of those filings and he gave me some tips as to what they want to see.  There are some steps that you need to make sure everything is correct with the PA Corporate division before the sales tax exemption will be processed.  We ran into this.  I told Joy that I would go through my stuff this weekend and send her what I could.

Judi,

We are a 501© through the National club.  I was told that the number we have from National is just for Federal Tax and it doesn’t count for PA exemption.  We also have a Charitable status that I just found the certificates for.  This is what I know this far.  I hope it helps.

Thanks

Joy
