Poetry by Candlelight on Dec. 11 is cancelled due a schedule conflict with
Clearwater's Miracle on Cleveland Street which was moved from Dec. 4 to Dec. 11.
Poetry by Candlelight will return on Friday, Jan. 8, celebrating its 1 yr.
anniversary.

proclaimed Dec. 5 through Dec. 12 "Clearwater Human Rights Week."  Hear the
reading of the proclamation at Poets for Human Rights' Annual Awards on
Saturday, Dec. 12, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Clearwater Main Library. Special
guest poets, winners of the 2009 Anita McAndrews Award and 2009 Alexander Popoff
Youth Award poetry contests will be announced, reading of the Universal
Declaration of Human Rights, and presentation of the 2009 Clearwater
Humanitarian Awards.  Free and open to the public.

Mabry in Tampa. 7 pm. We sit around the table in the back and enjoy each other's
poetry. Sometimes a dozen of us, sometimes twice that. It's not a big, noisy
thing, although sometime folks bring songs and an occasional guitar or bongo
drums. Most stuff goes, unless it is totally gross. It's a membership thing, but
anyone's invited a couple of times to check us out. TWA is a splendid support
organization for writers and poets and playwrights. Come by, bring copies if you
can so we can read along. Think up nice things to say. – Holiday alert – the
TWAPG will be off in December

presents Poet Rhett Iseman Trull. Trull's manuscript for The Real Warnings was
winner of the Anhinga Press Poetry Prize in 2008. Her poems have appeared in The
American Poetry Review, Best New Poets 2008 and Prairie Schooner. Her awards
include prizes from the Academy of American Poets and the Dorothy Sargent

Poets for Human Rights will celebrate the 51st anniversary of the Universal
Declaration of Human Rights at the Poets for Human Rights Annual Awards event
scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 12.  Winner of the 2009 Anita McAndrews Award
Poetry Contest, judged by Sheema Kalbasi, Persian human rights advocate and
award winning poet, will be announced. The winning poem will be presented by the
author or a guest reader. Poets from the Tampa Bay area who submitted poems to
the contest will be invited to read their poems.   Humanitarian awards will be
given to local human rights heroes.  Hosted by Larry Jaffe, co-founder of Poets
for Human Rights and Poet Laureate of Youth for Human Rights International. This
