WELCOME! PNOC (pronounced "pea-knock") is the Parenting Network of Cville, VA. Our online parents group serves as a networking forum for families (with minor kids of all ages, at home)in the greater Cville area.

PNOC is a place to exchange ideas & info. It's also a way to make friends offlist (virtual or 3D). You may post a question on any topic related to parenting, esp. with a local focus. Please check out the resources on our group's home page (in the left navigation bar), such as Links, Files, etc.

Guidelines:

1) ***When you apply to join, please write what your kids ages are & what NEIGHBORHOOD/county you live in. Click to join below!***

2) When you reply to a msg, your msg. is only sent to the individual who posted, not the whole group. To reply to the group, you must send your msg to PNOC@yahoogroups.com .

3) If you post a question, please come back to us later & post a summary of the responses you receive.

4) Members can choose to receive all emails, receive a daily digest of messages, or visit the home page to read posts. The "Edit my membership" button allows you to set your personal preferences.

5) Please remember that this is a resource-sharing, networking, & focused (limited) discussion board - but it is NOT a debate board. Moderators reserve the right to gently guide conversations offlist when we feel it's appropriate to do so. We also reserve the right to moderate any & all posts from some or all group members, to reject or delete posts, & to refer you to other resources for posting your messages if they are off-topic.

6) PNOC discourages ads, or "plugs" that sound like ads. Please do not rely on PNOC to market your business. One ad every 6 months is permitted, but only with moderator permission FIRST. The ad policy includes "plugs" or the weaving of a mention of your business into your messages. Once every 6 mos, max. Ask first. Why? Our members tell us that heavy marketing feels like spam.
