Pledge of Resistance is part of a (US)nationwide organization which began in opposition to the predicted war in Iraq. It was originally formed as Iraq Pledge of Resistance/Baltimore, committed to non-violent acts of civil disobedience and working with other groups in the Baltimore region who share this philosophy. After hostilities in Iraq "officially" ended, the group began to discuss its future as an affinity group. For many reasons, the word "Iraq" has been dropped from its title but the committment remains.
