AUDITIONS
The Playhouse announces auditions on October 6 and 7
at 7:00 at The Arts Council for the second show of the 2008-2009
season, "Christmas Belles," a southern comedy written by our favorite
playwrights, Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten, and is a
sequel to "Dearly Beloved," the saga of the Futrelle sisters,
Frankie, Twink and Honey Raye. "Christmas Belles" is a hilarious
comedy about a Christmas program that goes way out of control.
Squabling sisters, family secrets, a surly Santa, spiteful sheep and
a hesitant Elvis impersonator join together for side splitting, aisle
rolling, tear jerking comedy. But the three sisters, being the
Southern Belles that they are, pull it all together to present a
program that the town will never forget The Playhouse performed the
first play in September, 2006. There are roles for 7 women and 4 men
and all roles are open for auditions. Show dates are November 20-23.
Rehearsals will begin October 12 and will be on Sunday, Monday,
Tuesday and Thursday nights for the first few weeks. We need
volunteers for set construction, costuming, lights, sound, backstage
crew, box office, concessions and ushers. If you have any questions
about the auditions or the show, please call Jeff Creech, Director,
at 237-3417.
