I've heard rumors that Baker's gonna be putting an emphasis more on the
visuality of Plastic Man, rather than bogging the character down with dialogue.
I'm anxious to see how that's gonna play out in a heavily plot-driven comic
industry. Hopefully, Baker is able to do something new, exciting, and different
enough with the character that even non-Plas Fans will feel inclined to pick up
the book and give it a look-see. Personally, I've been waiting for this series
for about seven years, and I'm ecstatic that it's FINALLY coming to fruition and
will be seeing the light of day! Kudos to Baker and DC for actually making it
happen!

Hello,
The really incredible thing is how high quality most of the stories were back
when Cole did the series. He was incredibly inventive and creative, both as a
writer and a visual artist. Check out any of the Plas Archives (a fifth one is
upcoming), if you've never read any of the other Cole stories. I'm also very
much looking forward to Kyle Baker's series, as he has another great
writer/artist double-punch.
God bless,
Justin
hey, just disocvered this group after reading the frankly ASTOUNDING
noit to mention GENIUS story that was 'Plastic Man' in the DC
sampler 'World's Best Comics'! What a subversive genius jack Cole
was! I love the whacky dialogue and bizarre scenarios (the story
featured the brain of a 17thg century doctor living on thru
transplant into the body of a wwii soldier, who then developed a
growth serum and went on a rampage - "My God, Mr and Mrs Binks,
they've been crushed to as pulp!" (or something like that)
I CAN'T FRICKIN' WAIT!!! for Kyle Baker's series in December!!!!
I read a comic book in a Ft Lauderdale book store about Plastic Man and his girlfriend Penny. They wandered into a rough neighborhood and the same thing happened to Plastic Man that happened to Ned Beatty in"DELIVERANCE" while Penny watched. Has anyone else seen this printing? If so let me know where I could get a copy. Wayne

Hello,
I have never had the... pleasure... of reading this comic, and I don't
have the foggiest notion what it is. If you can find out more info
(keep it PG, please!), pass it along.
God bless,
Justin

Plas could be a hero of a similar status as the Flash or Green Lantern. I
would, however, not be at all adverse to a mini-series either. Any Plas is
good Plas, in my opinion!

side of him we seldom see. I, for one, would love to see that explored a
bit more by the man who started it all.

No NBI. Nothing to hold him back. Just good, old-fashioned Plas and Woozy
adventures! I'd love that more than anything else, most likely.

I'd love to see a Plastic Man regular series if it was done right. What I
mean is, in his own series I don't think Plas should be played as the wild
comedic character he often is when he's featured in other comics as I think
that would wear thin pretty rapidly. Woozy should be the funny character
with Plas more of a "straight arrow" type. The humour of Plas is the bizarre
things he can do with his powers, which an inventive artist could do some
great sequences with I think. If I had to think of a creative team I
wouldn't mind Tom Peyer having a go as writer, for my money the work he did
on DC's Hourman was humorous and he had a good set of quirky supporting
characters. For the art I'd love to see what someone imaginative like Alan
Davis or Art Adams could cme up with.
Regards,
Steve.

Steve a.k.a. The Chewy Walrus
just a question.....would anybody here support a plasticman
series..or just a mini-series?
My thoughts are just a mini-series.....if they make a monthly book it
will (forgive the pun!) stretch him to thin. His appearences in the
league are greatly needed, and In my opinion it divides this league
from any prior to it.
If we do get a mini...Who would you want writing it?
Who would you want drawing it?
well, I've spoke my mind! let me know what you think!
just a note to say PLastic man rules!
can't wait for his upcoming team-up with batman!it should prove
interesting!
Batman: "what are you doing?"
plas: "imatating you!"
Batman:"my ears aren't that pointy!"
lol/peace
Hello,
In issues #64-65, Bats and Plas will have a team-up that explains why
the latter brought the former into the League. I'm looking forward to
it... And hey, thank you, Bear. What's the point of having a club if
there are no members?
God bless,
Justin
just thought I'd drop a line in support of good ol' plas!
I've heard in up coming issues of J.L.A they'll be addressing the
plas/batman relationship!
does anybody out there think this is long overdue?
thanx again for this wonderful board! ...the pics are great!
Hello,
Hey, Steve, first off, thank you for showing up to this group! It
would be nothing without members. Secondly, I don't have any
wallpapers of Plas, but I do have plenty of pieces of art work under:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/plasfans/files/,http://groups.yahoo.com/group/plasfans2/files/, and
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/plasfans3/files/! There are a bunch of
pictures for you to mix and match into a big collage, if that's what
you're into. As for the screen savers, I really can't help you
there... If you know how to make them, and you incorporated some of
these pictures, I'd love to put it here (and on my computer!) Again,
I'm sorry that I'm of only minimal use, but I hope that you find what
you are looking for...
God bless,
Justin
Hi, it's good to see a group dedicated to my favourite Golden Age
character who doesn't seem to get the attention he deserves from the
comics community at large (though the DC Archives series does mean
more people are realising what a great character he is).
My question is, does anybody know I can find wallpapers/screensavers
featuring Jack Cole renditions of Plas?
Thanks,
Steve (and thanks for seeting up this group!)
There were live action segments? I didn't know that! What were they like?

plasfans group:
Who's the best Plastic Man artist?
o Jack Cole - no one beats the original!
o Alex Kotzky - his flair eclipsed even ol' Jack.
o Gil Kane - I love those red legs from the 60's!
o Ramon Fradona - he stretched, shrank, and bent all over the place under
Fradona's pencil.
o Joe Staton - those beautfiul babes, ugly evil-doers, and classy Plas can't
be beat!
o Hilary Barta - Look at Plas bug out in the 80's mini-series - classic
comedic style with plenty of action!
o Howard Porter - the slick-skin style on Plastic Man and the constant
shape-shifting make the best Plas!
o Aaron Lopresti - just look at the detail and exaggeration in the Plastic Man
Special!
o Ty Templeton - his classic cartoonist style from the Special and Secret
Origins #30 is tops.
o Ariel Oliveti - the story from JLA 80-Page Giant #2 showcases Plas at his
best!

Hello,
And Thank You, Jason! Hey, I couldn't have a group without members,
right? Anyhoo, I was wondering how I could add to my site, so I looked
around for stuff about HTML, and it didn't seem like I was going to be
able to do that... So, I got your e-mail, and I decided to get some
stuff together. Then, it dawned on me... Make A Yahoo Group/Club! Duh!
I can put it on the Net easily and for free. And if I run out of
space, I'll just make another one! Anyway, I've been having a little
trouble uploading stuff, so I'll try it from school in the new year
where it's much faster. We'll see how that works out, but until then,
if you want to see a cover, some art, scans, articles, anything, just
ask, and I'll tell you what I've got, and you can add to it, and well,
it'll be great!!!
God bless,
Justin

I'll keep this one short, just saying hello to all and thanks to
those of you who have been a great support to my site

It's so nice to join forces!

Hello,
Welcome one and all to Plastic Fans
(http://groups.yahoo.com/group/plasfans). I hope that you enjoy
yourselves here, and maybe this little group will get to be active
and have plenty of traffic. If not, that's okay, too. I just wanted
to put up some of the pictures and articles that I've been working on
for my actual site (http://plasticman.virtualave.net), so it's win-
win. If you need any more information, or just want to ask me
something, you can reach me at: plasticman60th@..., or
