Hey Comiconiacs,

It's not often that I can get your attention with just one word, but I think it
is safe to say when that one word is "Steranko" interests are suddenly peaked.

I know that I am often prone to hyperbole, it is my job after all,
but in Jim Steranko's case it is all warranted.
Mr. Steranko is an artistic visionary
and we are so proud to announce that he will be our Guest of Honor at the 2013
Pittsburgh Comicon-September 27-29
There will be plenty of more details to come about Mr. Steranko's appearance in
the coming days so stay tuned!!!

Besides the addition of Jim Steranko to a guest list that already sported such
names as George Perez, Barry Kitson, Michael Golden, Jim Balent and more.

OK crew, we are looking at a number of possibilities for creating a better
online presence for the Comicon.  With the number of smartphones and iwhatevers
out there, we have to find what path will give us the biggest bang for the buck.
The Pittsburgh Comicon website, www.pittsburghcomicon.com, is the primary
contact point for show info and updates.  Then, there are Patrick's update
emails, which everyone looks forward too.

I am trying to get a feel for how many of you would be interested in a
downloadable app, Apple and Android compatible, that would act like a 'virtual'
program guide, provide up-to-minute cancellation info, allow you to post on
facebook or tweet within the app about the show, provide a map of the showfloor,
facilities and surrounding Monroeville area, and a contain a list of vendors and
guests, with info on each. Give me your thoughts, positive or negative and why,
as we really want to gauge the usefulness of this opportunity to our fans.

I actually did think about creating a mobile website at one point, Andrew. 
However, my end logic was that a mobile website would still suffer from same lag
that we experience with the main website.  The potential of the product we are
looking at would allow us to update the app contents on the fly and push out
updates to users, as well as, provide event updates via message pushes.  Thanks
for your input, it helps me identify what type of service we need to look for
and try to get up and running.

Let the countdown begin.  Also I would love to see Margot Kidder attend again. 
I missed her last time due to all the standing in line.  I soooo wanted her to
sign my Superman I-IV movie posters.

Im heading up tomorrow.

Comicon Fans Assemble!!  The Pittsburgh Comicon has a new twitter handle,
@PittComicon.  The old account had kind of drifted into the great unknown that
is cyberspace and it left without a way to recall it, so a new account is born!
Follow us to receive updates and announcements.  We will also be tweeting during
the show to provide updates, guest and programming announcements, last-minute
cancellations, and more!  The adventure continues.....on twitter!
