I'm just curious why my e-mail is being spammed with announcements about a show
I have never attended. Dominic, are you trawling the members list of a group
dedicated to a competing convention for your mailing list?

Either way, remove me.

The main page states "And feel free to talk about anything else related to the
fandom in Pittsburgh, such as local comic book creators, local sci-fi series
fans groups, or local comic shops."

While the main crux of the group is regarding the Pittsburgh Comicon that Pat,
Rene and company put on yearly for us, there are other events that happen in the
area which may be of interest to folks here. I prefer Comicon personally
because I love the variety of the artists that are represented that are only
available there. Occasionally, I enjoy hitting Steel City for the personalities
that they bring in which wouldnt generally attend Comicon.

I'll never miss Comicon weekend, but it depends on who are guests at Steel City
if I attend there. I don't particularly see it as a conflict of the purpose of
this group to talk about other happenings in the area in the down time around
the Comicon.

Thoughts or comments from other members?

Quick question for the group: does anyone know if there are still hotel rooms at
the Doubletree available at the con price? Cannot get the website to work
through the Con site but when don't go through the con site, I find rooms at the
regular price.

Any guidance? Am I doing something wrong? Is there a special code word or
anything for if I call the hotel? Any help is appreciated!

Thanks,
Josh

Its weird. Looking at the list and noticing how many "regulars" are missing,
like Tucci, Caldwell, etc. Also I only notice one media guest, Peter Mayhew.
But I am hoping that all this will change if a new update is released.

Pittsburgh Comiccon needs an app for Android (and I guess Ipad). It could have
a map showing where everyone is at along with bios. Listing of the weekends
events. up to date cancellations...etc. Just a thought

That could be kind of neat now that you mention it would have possibilities to link up to guest websites and local places to eat.  I've seen a few people at different things have a QR code at their table that you'd scan with your phone for more information or show off their art...granted, that is up the individual guests to set up.  I'd be left out regardless as I'm one of those rebels that bought a Windows phone instead. lol

Star wars celebration also has an app. I think it's a great idea. If only there were an app designer looking for a project.

We're having so logistical issues with Casino Night, that's why it hasn't been
listed yet. I'd say the chances are about 50/50 at this point but I'll let you
know when a final decision is made.

It's a lovely idea Donnie, but you are talking to a guy that if someone is
talking about a "Good App" I'm thinking fried zucchini. (and I'm the tech savvy
guy of the staff) However if someone (say TODD, you know who you are!) would
want to create such a thing I wouldn't be opposed but I don't have the first
idea about going about it.
