Hey Donnie,

I am working on it. We added about 90 new guests to the website a couple weeks
ago and I'm working on another update, but some of the stuff I REALLY want to
announce I can't yet. But I promise some new guests this week and some BIG
announcements in the coming weeks.

The only reason I am asking is because I didn't see any people that have been
regulars for the past few years i.e. Tucci, EBAS, etc.

Hello! I'm new to the group myself. I've been to one Pittsburgh Comicon, just
this previous fall in fact.

I'm planning on going to the one this spring. And if all goes well, I'll be
dressed as The Mighty Thor himself!

Nice to meet you! Looking forward to browsing around the message boards :)

I'll be going as animated Scarecrow again on Saturday this year. Due to circumstances a bit beyond my control, things didn't go exactly as I'd hoped last year, so I want to use the mask again.

Going to do a bit more budget friendly Master Roshi on Sunday. Any anime/manga types interested in a group thing?

and able for 2010, including
  David Mack and Steve Scott.

- Ghost Rider creator, Gary Friedrich had such a good time at his first
Pittsburgh Comicon in September, he couldn't wait to come back in 2010.

- and some of my personal favorite guests: Jay Fife, Jamie Fay, David Bancroft
and others are returning in 2010. (never let it be said that I'm not willing to
shill for my friends!)

Yeah, that's big news! But, Gene's getting up there, so it's no guarantee that
he'll be con sketching.

Pat, did you mention Joe Sinnott in the email, that's great news too!

We announced Joe Sinnott in early December. (I had to go back through my
updates to be sure, but yes we did announce his appearance and we're very
excited about Joe.)

I'll have more news hopefully by Friday.

ASPEN ADDED TO PITTSBURGH COMICON 2010

Greetings Pitt-Con Posse,

I have a quick but important update to get to, so without further notice:

We're adding around 20 new guests this week including:

An Entire Crew from ASPEN ENTERTAINMENT. Aspen has added Pittsburgh to its 2010

Appearing from Aspen are:

Artist of the New Mindfield, as well as the recent Batman Annual and Gotham
Gazette, ALEX KONAT

And as we already reported, Soulfire and Executive Assistant, Iris Artist, JOE
BENITEZ

ASPEN is looking to make a big Splash at the 2010 Comicon , Don't You Dare Miss
It.

Also I reported in the last update that fans of the BUFFY comic could look
forward to some big news, well here it is:

JO CHEN the cover artist of BUFFY SEASON EIGHT is attending the 2010 Comicon.

Jo's renditions of Buffy and the rest of the Scoobies are truly stunning and we
are ecstatic to have her in Pittsburgh.

For a full list of guests including all the new additions for 2010 visit
www.pittsburghcomicon.com

We also added two great pieces to the Auction Page this week including:

The preliminary pencils to the 2010 Pittsburgh Comicon T-Shirt by Glenn Klimeck

(the art is current being inked by Bob Almond and as soon as its back I'll put
up the inked version, but go check it out to see a preview of the 2010 T-Shirt.)

Also added to the Auction Page this week is a great piece by FOC (friend of con)
Jay Fife. Jay is a favorite of the Pittsburgh fans go check out his Joker and
Harley piece for this year's auction.

I'm currently working to finish the 2010 Comicon Mailer which will go out in
early March, so you'll soon have more great guest announcements and the 2010

I'm planning on being there either Saturday or Sunday, probably Saturday. Again
I'll be going in costume...my theme for this year is ...wait for it....the
Pittsburgh Pirate. Not the sports team, but the scourge of the Three Rivers.
Cheesy I know, but sounds great to me. I'm not looking for any particular
issues, but sketches. I'm always somewhat afraid to ask an artist for a sketch,
except Jim Balent. But I'm going to get over that little fear this year. Is
there anyone I should look for in particular?

I know what you mean about asking for a sketch except for Jim Balent who is fantastic at doing whatever you want...I asked Terry Austin there one time if you could do a wolverine for me..He took my book and drew a damn Popeye and then he told me after he was done very rudely that he does what he wants and doesn't take request..What an ahole..Frank Cho is another ahole too got the same vibe off Adam Hughes also....But Scott McDaniel is another kool guy like Jim...He did two sketches for me Batman and Hulk...Really awesome guy..I was hoping Jimmy Palimotti and Amanda Conners would be there they are great too..And while your at Broadsword booth...Holly G! does sketches too...George Perez is awesome but don't think he will be there..Tim Bradstreet cool guy don't think he will be there either....The artists are real slim pickings this year..Was hoping for more....I was gonna go the whole weekend like I usually do but think its gonna be a Saturday only time this year....

Balent is awesomefor doing sketches. I haven't had any real problems with
getting sketches from anyone. The only problem I have had was that their list
fills up too quickly. I always tried to get one from Caldwell but his list was
always filled. I also know what you mean by attitude from some artists like
Linsner, Deodato, and Frenz. But at this show I'm going for Balent, Medors,
Aspen and Top Cow crews, McDaniel to name a few.

A couple of years ago he had a "special". Buy Dawn 3 Tiers HC and get a free
sketch. I bought one while he was at a discussion. So I came back and had to
basically squeeze blod from a stone to get anything.

C'mon give Hughes some credit. He has a loooong line waiting for commissions.
I can understand having certain signing times so he can get them all done over
the weekend. As for JML, he just sits there and does nothing.
Another one I ran into last show was Frenz. I was getting some things signed.
A kid, about 9 or 10, was in front of me and wanted to get a little sketch of
Capt. America on a backing board. He complained about people wanting to not pay
for sketches.

I'm not a fan of Hughes but my friend is and he gave my friend attitude for no reason...I can understand if you have a looooog line for work but that doesn't mean you have to be mean or nasty to people either...What Frenz did was soooooo wrong...It would  have been bad enough for him to do that to an adult who could of  told him to bite it but to do that to a kid is wrong...What will that kid think?...Would have been funny as hell if the kid told him to go screw himself.....If I was running the show and someone complained about someone like that I would check it out and if its a real reason and the person didn't give them an attitude to begin with (because I have seen fans be nasty to the artist too) then they wouldn't be asked back to the con.....I really hate how some of these people think that they are divas..I'm like get over yourselves you ain't all that...Hope this year its not bad but we will have to wait and see..One good thing no JML this year...So far no Hughes either...Poor showing of artist this year..Hope they can turn it up a lot and bring in some more artists LOTS more..So far no one outside the comic world is on the list either

C'mon give Hughes some credit. He has a loooong line waiting for commissions. I can understand having certain signing times so he can get them all done over the weekend. As for JML, he just sits there and does nothing.
Another one I ran into last show was Frenz. I was getting some things signed. A kid, about 9 or 10, was in front of me and wanted to get a little sketch of Capt. America on a backing board. He complained about people wanting to not pay for sketches.

Oh don't get me started on signing. I remember the first show I went to about 5
years ago and Bendis was there. I was fourth in line and it took me about 45
minutes to get 3 books signed. The person that was second had 2, yes 2, LONG
boxes of books for him to sign. And it wasn't like it was a whole run of
Ultimate Spiderman. It was multiple copies of a few books like 30 New Avengers
1, Ultimate Spiderman Annual 1, etc.

As for Frenz, I can't really blame him if it was an adult, but a kid? And I
love the choice of artists this year. I am a huge Top Cow fan so meeting
Benitez and Queen is great. Also meeting Balent and Holly is always enjoyable.
Also the free sketches Balent does are great. I still have all my sketches and
will never sell them.

I remember that guy...I wanted to get a C.O.A. for a comic that Bendis signed (he told me it was the very first one he ever signed even marked it with a #1) so I went to the table where they would log it into a computer and give you the certificate...And there was the guy with tons and tons of boxes getting C.O.A. for every f..king book he had signed....Pissed me off...I think they should limit a persons time at the table so everyone could get a chance...It didn't matter what time I went there he was planted in a sit and getting the C.O.A.... This guy was a pain in my ass all weekend too....I never ever sell my sketches either....I have a book that's for Jim and Holly only and another book that's for everyone else....I hope he isn't there this year but knowing my luck

Oh don't get me started on signing. I remember the first show I went to about 5 years ago and Bendis was there. I was fourth in line and it took me about 45 minutes to get 3 books signed. The person that was second had 2, yes 2, LONG boxes of books for him to sign. And it wasn't like it was a whole run of Ultimate Spiderman. It was multiple copies of a few books like 30 New Avengers 1, Ultimate Spiderman Annual 1, etc.

As for Frenz, I can't really blame him if it was an adult, but a kid? And I love the choice of artists this year. I am a huge Top Cow fan so meeting Benitez and Queen is great. Also meeting Balent and Holly is always enjoyable. Also the free sketches Balent does are great. I still have all my sketches and will never sell them.

I am also perfectly willing to autograph as many of my comics that you choose to purchase.

And I'll sign other people's comics, too. Doesn't matter to me.

Not the sports team, but the scourge of the Three Rivers. Cheesy I know, but sounds great to me. I'm not looking for any particular issues, but sketches. I'm always somewhat afraid to ask an artist for a sketch, except Jim Balent. But I'm going to get over that little fear this year. Is there anyone I should look for in particular?
