Good idea! I was considering gluing on some blocks with #4 or #6 Tee-Nuts imbedded in them. The holes you see are quite deep, i.e. about 1/2 inch or more and

When making a new spring, or on the old one, if you want to keep the fairings, glue wood blocks to the upper or lower surface as attachments for the screws.
