This group was formed as a replacement forum to discuss the construction and use of the Picastar HF band transceiver which was designed and developed by Peter, G3XJP. (Peter's original picastar group closed on 1st Sept 2008)

Peter, G3XJP has set up the picaproject Yahoo group which describes a number of projects including Picastar, for which he holds copyright. This means that anyone starting to build PicaStar or part of it needs his permission to use material his copyright. (Exception: DSP souce code, which is based on DSP-10 by Bob Larkin, W7PUA and subject to the GNU general public license.) We have to assume that such permission is implicit if Peter, G3XJP admits you to the picaproject group.

If you wish to consider building a Picastar then you need to first examine the full scope of the project.
You need to join the picaproject group which publishes:
- The original articles
- All the modification data
- All the software
- Configuration and operating instructions
- Links to other related sites
