Subject: tree collards in hot-and-humid climates

Hello,

I live near Tallahassee, Florida, USA. We have long, hot and humid summers, and
a few hard freezes a year.

I recently purchased some tree collard cuttings, and am rooting them now. I'm
wondering if anyone on this list has experience or knowledgable advice about how
to help them thrive in (or even survive) our hot summers.

Also, will they handle freezes?

Many thanks,
Paul

Can you tell me where the database is and how to access it so I can see what
plants are already there? I may be able to add info on plants that grow in the
philippines.

I tried the database link but there was no database set up.

In Russia
Moscow area , it is called yellow acacia,
and looked upon as one of the best honey / nectar sources among bee keepers, superseeded by Lime (linden) trees only.

I've had a number of russian friends tell me that they would eat siberian peashrub pods, sometimes prepared, tho they didn't tell me how they were prepared. I wonder if they were pickled also. I've tried eating them a few times and they seem to fall into the survival food category.
