I created this Pettigo/Tullyhommon Online Community, and the webpage, as a tribute to my great-great-granda, Hugh Monaghan, who emigrated from Croagh in Pettigo during An Gorta Mor. I remain in awe of his courage and perseverence in the face of great tragedy. His love of Pettigo, Donegal and Ireland has been passed on to me through the generations.
This group serves as a tribute to Pettigo, in the Republic of Ireland, and Tullyhommon in Northern Ireland and to their spirit of cross-border community cooperation and development.
