Huw,

Look at Cesare’s screenshot (next message after yours).

1)      Click the button to the Left of Style at the top right, or

2)      Double-click on a Ribbon Bar panel, for example Home, Display, Favourites, Tools.

Hello Simon

A BIG Thanks for your work!!!

Installation went OK.
Autosearching of Perseus went OK.
CPU usage very very low.
...a little stuttering (actually Perseus SW and Studio1 are more “smoothly”).

Hi,

Did you allow the C++ 2010 Redistributables to run?

Look in the SDR-Radio.com (V2) Folder in the Start Menu, then Tools and you’ll see it.

I added this (it’s the Open MP support) in this kit.

Hi all,

First of all a huge thank you to Simon for his great work in supporting Perseus!

Nevertheless it is not yet fully working for me.
I have just installed build 1273 on my Win7, 64bit notebook.
When I try to open the console I get an error message stating that the programme can't be started as 'VCOMP100.DLL' is missing.
However I managed to locate the aforementioned DLL in the folder Windows\SysWOW64.
Previous builds were working with Perseus wav-files.
Sorry if this is a silly question, but please, is there anyone who can provide help?

Thanks a lot in anticipation!

73s,

Johannes

Simon,

Still a brilliant job ( I am trying to be positive ) but the ribbon menus are
still used albeit minimised now, thanks for the pointers to how to do it. I
find them visual clutter what with a picture and words for each operation. Is
there a way to revert to 'normal' drop down menus?

Hi Guido,

You can enter your frequency in the explorer (direct tab).
Place your cursor in the top field and "apply".

No direct entry like in V1.5(yet).

Yes, I know Paul. but only the lower spectrum/WF pane jumps to that frequency without tuning the radio to that frequency, and after a few tries, the frequency explorer seems to freeze.  But of course, Simon warned us that this is nothing more that a technical release. I'll have patience.

Bill, I think that 4.5 volts would only be at the cusp of usefulness, and would quickly run-down as the Perseus has a significant current draw. I don't think that it would work for more than a few minutes. Just a guess on my part, though. It normally wants 5.5 volts, and will blow if over 6 volts, so specs are quite narrow! Hello Bill,

The specs say 5V +/- 5%, that is 4.75 - 5.25 volt.
It certainly will not work on 4.5 V.

The way to go is to use a 6V gel cell battery, followed by a low drop 5V
regulator.

As far as I can remember (I always take my new toys apart and have a look) the
DC input socket goes to a 5V regulator and thence to the rest of the circuitry.
So you will need enough volts to make the regulator to work correctly, 7V
minimum as a guess. Take the thing apart and look up the regulator spec.. Or
wait for Nico et al to give a definitive reply.

I have a small problem getting the Perseus DLL to run correctly, it’s something I’ll bring up with Nico’s team once they get the USB3 problem resolved (this will be chewing up time).

No no no, Huw!
Please no more frying!

Not all circuitry is behind the regulator.
The ADC driver depends directly on the regulated PSU.

Perseus needs 5V, max 5% deviation as Roelof said.

Werner,

You can do it as I mentioned here

by using 2 USB ports.  You need 2 ports while Perseus draws more than 500 mA.

I've made such a cable and it works.

Guido.

Werner mentioned he is powering perseus via USB connector from laptop. How are you getting the power out of the usb connector at the radio end - adapter to grab power out of a usb connector?? 73, Bill WA2DVU
