I've had this only a few times while streaming 2000kS/s in LAN mode.
I suspect maxed out/peaking CPU could be a cause.
In all instances I also had a local Perseus coupled to the system and I was
switching between my local/remote Perseus.
The kS/s selection becomes inactive and the server just keeps steaming on its
last chosen frequency.

Perseus is streaming. So when it flashes for a long time, without the click of a
connection coming in, I get suspicious... But if my Perseus would be sitting at
some remote location, that would be impossible.

Perhaps, between nursing the Gemini twins, someone will find a minute or two and
pay some attention to this issue? Recently, netstat -a did not reveal any
existing connections when streaming into nowhere.
