Description
Peregrine Watch!
Wild wings over the water on Duluth, Minnesota’s downtown Lakewalk...
There’s a secret drama unfolding in downtown Duluth! High above the city, two peregrine falcons are raising a family on the side of a building. Daily, they hunt, kill prey, feed their babies, and chase off predators above our heads, and most of us have no idea that this family drama is taking place! When it comes time to fly, these babies test their wings over the city streets, Lakewalk and Lake Superior. After learning to fly, the babies (fledglings) learn to hunt over our city…quietly and with stealth, they hunt, kill and eat their prey.
We want to share this amazing story with you! In a collaborative effort between the City of Duluth and the Hawk Ridge Bird Observatory, educational programs and informal interpretation are available at Lake Place Park, above the ‘corner’ of the Lakewalk in downtown Duluth. Naturalists are on-site with spotting scopes and binoculars, pointing out the movements and activities of Duluth’s most visible raptor family.
This list is for those interested in learning more about the lives of this family and in receiving daily updates about their activities. We require memberships to be approved by the moderator to reduce the amount of spam received by the list. Welcome!

Re: they're still here
Thank you, Dennis!? I've been wondering, but haven't had time to stop downtown to see. Take care, Julie ... From: Dennis McManus <dennismcman@...> To:

they're still here
I was walking through the park around 10 this morning and happened to glance up and noticed a bird on the corner of the green ledge closest to the nest box.
