The photo shows the demolition of the historic Ebony Showcase Theatre by the Los Angeles Community Redevelopment Agency in 1998 after the redevelopment agency filed an eminent domain lawsuit against the founders, Nick and Edna Stewart, and the mortgage company which owned the buildings. The CRA falsely claims that the building was severly damaged in the Northridge Earthquake. This is not true, the buildings were deemed safe to occupy by both the Army Corps of Engineers and the Los Angeles Building Department.

We are in favor of historic preservation and private property rights (real and personal) for everyone -- tenants, owners, and homeless persons. We are fighting to win against redevelopment abuse, eminent domain abuse, code enforcement abuse, and taking or confiscation of private property (real and personal).
