RE: [penturners] White Gold Pen Kits

This is news to me.  Although white gold is not truly white, but a silver color, when I was a working jeweler with my own store/shop, I would regularly cast white gold and it never came out a tinted brown, and I never had to plate it with rhodium or anything else.  I would just polish it like the yellow gold.  Of course, things could have changed since then...

White gold is a mix of gold and nickel but here is an interesting line from Wikipedia...
>Almost all white gold jewelry is rhodium plated since gold alloyed with palladium or nickel never comes out true white, but tinted brown, therefore requiring a thin layer of rhodium to mask the tinted shade and make it true white.<
There are Rose Gold pen kits available, but no White Gold kits , however there certainly are plenty of beautiful, durable rhodium- plated kits around! - And that is what a white gold pen would look like anyway.

Wikipedia is not always accurate. White gold has to have the right or > yellow gold content to be labeled and sold. 14K (585/1000), 18K (750/1000). Anything...
