Angela,
I have a couple of thoughts on this subject. As a vendor, albeit a
hobbyist/vendor, I have dealt with this from the other end. First of all, I'm
assuming that you contacted the company, before you sent the materials back.
That said, if someone has a problem with my blanks, and they aren't just being
picky (some folks expect the miraculous, though I've never run into anyone who
does), I don't ask for a return, unless it's a large order. I pay for the
replacement and the shipping.
By the time a customer has ordered from me twice, I've usually become friends
with that person, on some level. Look at the forums for pen turners and other
woodworkers. I don't know why, but they (we) are just a nicer, friendlier class
of people. Customers should be cherished, not abused.
OK, please tell me your opinion. For those of you that purchase quite often from companies there must be times when you are shipped the wrong item, poor...
If they want the merchandise back, a quality company will admit the error, apologize and either call tag the stuff they want back(pre-pay the return shipping)...
Angela , Unless you ordered a random choice of what ever the shipping twit chose to throw into the box you deserve return shipping and a BIG apology. Buying ...
Just demand that they send you a pickup label which is their expense and notify the credit card company of the dispute. No one volunteers what they have to be...
The hassle of returns are one of the risks you take when you buy from a virtual store versus a brick and mortal store. I think return freight is on the buyer....

I got a defective caliper from PSI, actually got 2 in a row, and they told me to keep the second one. they paid postage for the first one and decided it was...
PSI is a good company as far as I'm concerned but you get what you pay for. Look at the price of a Starrett or Mitutoyo caliper to see what a quality caliper...
I have the high dollar calipers for the presses in the print shop. If the measurements are off the images won't fit on the press sheets. That is a big problem....
Dennis; Yes; the HF 4" digital calipers are good enough for penturning and general use. I also have micrometers for when I need precise measurement, and 2...

Big Rob does good stuff:) Some of us cant place big orders but he dont seem to care. By the way Rob, do you have an expanded burl list? Only saw a few...
Hi Wayne, I'm sorry, but I only carry those few burls. Burls are often too heavy for me with my back problem. Small burls don't yield enough usually. Thanks...
And when you measure it tomorrow, it'll be a different size. At least it won't change so much with cheaper callipers. I've got a door that has a split panel...
Angela, change vendors. If the vendor won't take care of the customer they don't deserve to exist. It's just that simple, at least it is for me. I guess...
