Nathan Hayes from spokane who was at the jam this past Saturday left
behind his most beloved pair of black polar fleece pants. has anybody
seen them? He wont be back in PDX for a month so he hopes somebody
will hang onto them. Also less importantly my friend linda left
behind a little throw pillow quite a while ago and I ALWAYS forget to
look for it. So if anybody finds some unfamiliar stuffs that arent
yer own hang on to em and let me know.

Thanks,
Erik

PerformanceWorks NorthWest at 4625 SE 67th Near Foster in Portland is available for Saturday Jams from 4-6 ongoing weekly.  She's now offering me a $7 hourly rate.  It's the best studio in town, with the best most kind owner, with an opening, it's perfect.  The location is doable, all the other factors make it worth the extra mile.  Money can be saved this way, if there are enough payer people for purchase or down payment on next step.  It's a go.  Let me know Tuesday night.  Hope you're all where I am.  I like it the best, for many reasons.  Convenient heat, etc.  It's o.k.  No brainy fill in for Saturday in my opinion, will also sign up for Friday morning but will talk with Carolyn and Patrick about latening time, if that works.  So we'd be there Thursday 3-5pm as always, Friday morning and Saturday 4-6 as a replacement.  It works.  Let me know Tuesday.  Stu Stu.  X.

This space is zoned commercial/retail and is on the second floor. It
has been a dance studio and gym in the past. It has a painted wood
floor about 1200 sq ft. and the rest is carpeted. There are 2 tiny
rooms that could become 1 larger room very easily. They were
previously changing rooms for the Dance studio.

There is a shared lobby and Bathroom. Parking is plentiful. Bus
access is good and the #70 stops at the front door. Walk to
restaurants, cofee shops and a wine bar.

The rent is $700 per month plus electricity.

Hey Gang,
It's time for me to shift from living solo to living in community.
The dream is: a big house, a fireplace, a garden, a wonderful kitchen
that can handle several cooks at once, lots of yummy food to share,
helpful souls living together with one person being available for a
New Best Friendship with zany me, healthy boundaries, respect,
intentions, meetings, gatherings, sharing, sharing, sharing.

No the house does not exist yet, not in my conscious mind anyway. But
there's plenty of big ole' houses here in Portland. It's the people
that will make the house a successful, rich experience; the house is
just the defined space within which this can happen.

Ideally: a musician who owns a handful of extra drums; a potter
(because they're so grounded), a knowledgeable garden-starter, a
weaver (?), you get the picture. Goal: three of us total (self
included). Location: SE Portland first choice, NE Portland second
choice.

*Note: must be willing to have several meetings and discussions about
What The House Is Going To Be Like, establishing ground rules,
talking about conflict and resolution, etc. This process could take a
while...

Namaste, ~~Tina

Hi everyone-

Kevin Chambers here. I'm the one who created the Portland Contact Improv
Yahoo Group.

A few people have asked me to add new people onto the list. While I'm happy
to do that every so often, I think the best way to get people on is to offer
the information on how to sign up so that folks can do it themselves. So here
goes:

There are two ways to sign up. One way is to go to the PDXCI web page
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pdxci and hit the prominent "Join this group"
button. To sign up this way, folks would have to get a Yahoo! profile if they
don't already have one.

Way two is via email. The person who wants to join the list simply sends an
email to the following address: pdxci-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. This way is
simpler in that it doesn't require a Yahoo! account.

One other way to see what's been sent out is to go to the PDXCI web page
mentioned above and read messages that have been posted from there. I just
today changed the group's settings so that anyone (not just members) can read
the emails that have been sent through the group.

That's all for now. See you dancing!

Kevin

Greetings everybody (from Eric Sucher),

We will be demonstrating Contact Improv to the public at the last Thursday event, that's this Thursday Oct. 28th. Alberta Arts Pavilion, 2315 Alberta, 7pm to at least 9pm...

Jessica and I found a great place to dance at an exhibition space called Alberta Arts Pavilion, 2315 Alberta. It's an art gallery with a large open central area perfect for what we do with a painted plywood floor in good condition. People will be flowing through the space to look at the art on the walls and we will periodically dance, maybe ten minutes every half hour.

Between dancing periods, the last Thursday event should be a lot of fun to see and or we could dance outside somewhere if weather permits in addition to dancing at the Pavilion.

Also a reminder: Martin Keogh's workshop Nov. 15 and 16th is coming soon. If you register by Nov. 1st you get a $25 discount. Call Alex 503.230.8825 or email alexblissmarsh@...

Thanks everyone... Eric

Hi everyone--

This is a workshop that my friend Kri is organizing.  I went to one lead by the same person earlier in the year, and I really loved it.  It's very kindred with the spirit of Contact Improv.  Think about coming to it!

Can you come out to play?

Create peace through your playful heart of belonging!

If you haven't yet met Fred, you are in for a treat.   O. Fred Donaldson, Ph.D. has been studying the deep patterns of play for over 30 years and has been a pioneer in the use of play as an alternative to competition, abuse, and aggression.  Fred is an Aikidoist, author and educational consultant who is recognized internationally for his on-going research and play with children, adults, at-risk youth, and wild animals.  Play connects us through love and kindness, and allows us to offer a heart of belonging in place of violence.  Come share a weekend of stories, questions and answers, and best of all—PLAY!   Applicable for teachers, therapists, parents, families, peacemakers... all human beings.
