Welcome to Portland Backyard Chickens, where no one will think you're nuts if you talk to your feathered friends! We are an informal group of friends & neighbors, here to share information, support and stories only other chicken fanciers would understand.

This group has a particularly Portland frame of mind, specifically suited to our needs in terms of climate and legalities in the greater Portland area. Membership is open to those who either have chickens already, or who are exploring the possibilities of their own back yards.

This is a friendly place, one where we may feel free to share the fun stories of our chickens, and how they affect our gardens and our whole lives. While we needn't stay strictly informational, let's try to keep the discussion at least vaguely on topic. Needless to say, flaming and other "fowl" behavior is likely to upset the chooks. So come in, relax, and play nicely!
