PAWS was formed to promote a cruelty-free and compassionate relationship between humans and animals in Pakistan.

Stray dogs in Karachi number in the tens of thousands. Currently, the only strategy of the civic authorities to combat rabies is the sporadic inhumane killing of these dogs by either shooting with guns or strychnine poisoning.

One of our main objectives is to introduce a humane alternative to reduce the stray dog populations of our cities. We are working towards implementing the Animal Birth Control program in Karachi and lobbying for it to be made part of government policy.
