Description

The PA Adoption Reunion Registry was founded in 1995 and through the years has helped many. PARR has been in contact with thousands of triad members and has had numerous requests through the years. I personally feel that PARR is your organization and have tried to provide a services and information that has been requested.

PARR is hoping to meet the requested needs of those registrered by implementing several ideas recieved over the years. Feel free to email the list with questions regarding search, reunion, and issues pertaining to adoption only. The goal of this mailing list is to create a safe place to share the feelings and issues that may be going on in your lives as well as provide a place that you can find search assistance. If it is related to adoption, search, and reunion, you are welcome to post.

It is not the intention of PARR to duplicate efforts in the state. PARR's intent is to continue to act as an umbrella registry for the state, and be a resource for triad members, organizations, and professionals. All three groups of people are attempting to accomplish the same thing. I hope we can all reach our goals together. I hope that this list is viewed as an additional tool that is available to those in the adoption community.

The PA Adoption Reunion Registry is a mutual consent registry. Members of the "adoption triangle" form it who desire to reconnect with each other. PARR feels that adoptees need to know the truth of their origins and as well as access to updated medical, cultural and social information. PARR also believes adoptees should have the right to unconditional access of their original birth certificate.

In order to meet its mission, PARR works to educate the public about adopted life issues, and the need to support open adoption and access to adoption records by birth parents, adoptees and adoptive parents, maintains a registry for triad members searching who have a PA connection, and provides search assistance.
