Description

BUTTERFLY WATCHERS PHILIPPINES, aptly called PARO-PAROZZI, is a group formed by THE PHILIPPINE BUTTERFLY HABITAT CONSERVATION SOCIETY, INC.

PARO-PAROZZI is composed of butterfly enthusiasts who enjoy watching butterflies not in captivity but flying free, armed with cameras, not with nets. ("paro-paro" is the Philippine name for butterfly. "paro-parozzi" is a coined name for a photographer who chases after butterflies.

Members of the group are encouraged to document butterflies in the early and adult stages, including their larval (host) plants. The "paro-parozzi" members share photographs and make field reports to help create a data base that can serve as a reference guide for those interested in butterflies.

The members of Butterfly Watchers Philippines promote not only the enjoyment of butterflies but the protection and conservation of butterflies and their habitats (forest ground cover)as well.

BUTTERFLY WATCHERS PHILIPPINES is also a partner of the BUTTERFLY GARDENING CLUB. Everyone who wants to be a part of the campaign to bring back the butterflies and to learn from these special creatures the importance of caring for the habitats are encouraged to join.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Members of this group are not allowed to collect butterflies in all stages. Ours is a hurting environment that needs to be restored. The remaining habitats should be preserved and protected. Photographing butterflies is the best alternative.

Note: Those interested to join this group are required to share their true identity (full name), gender and their location for the moderator to send an invitation.
