Salmon Johnson was born in Vermont near Lake Champlain and at an
early date came to this town [Barton, NY] locating at Ellistown.
His son Thomas Floyd married Lucinda, daughter of Parish and Barbara
(Ellis) Saunders by whom he had five children who arrived at
maturity, viz.: Barbara (Mrs. William Weller), D. Jane (Mrs. Edward
Tozer), Sarah (Mrs. Oscar F. Burke), Cyrus, and Emma L. (Mrs.
Charles Parker). Solomon Johnson moved to the state of Ohio where
he died.

Mary and Gloria sent me the article by this name (not sure of the
source publcation), which I just read, and found fascinating.

The article describes how the "whole territory of nothern New York,
including what is now Vermont, was part of Albany County.

Frederick and John Parker were born in Vermont per census records.

I had no idea of the land skirmishes that went on amongst settlers
and landowners. It seems there were differing opinions as to owned
the land and who had the right to distribute ownership of the land.
(Well, the same thing goes on to this day, so I guess it's not that
big of a surprise.) The article goes on to state:

"...the few settlers in the disputed area were peacable; this lasted
until a New Yorker was forcibly driven from the eastern part of the
Hoosic patent by New Hampshire men."

"Discharged Highland soldiers(Scots)in the area of Hebron were driven
from their land by mobs under Ethan Allen and fled to New Perth
(Salem)."

And to think that whenever I had heard of Ethan Allen in the past,
all I could think of was high end colonial style furniture.

In the "History of Waverly, NY" file folder on this site, in the
latter three pages, it states that John and wife Lydia Tozer Parker;
Luther Doolittle and wife Lucy Tozer Doolittle; Mary Tozer who
married (can't make it out, the name did not copy on the photocopied
page -- can anyone tell me the groom's name?) all moved to Lawrence
County, Ohio.

While researching the Chalfant side of my family I noticed how
relatives seemed to migrate from place to place in packs -- I'm sure
for reasons of safety, comfort and mutual support). Seems the same
thing went on with these families. One reason for the movement was
that land speculators would buy a large piece of land and advertise
the land as an agricultural Heaven on earth. People would see these
ads, buy the land and migrate there. I understand that this was how
Texas was populated in early times. I would like to know if there
were a lot of other people moving to Lawrence County,Ohio during this
same time and for the same reason.

Later, some of the the Parker and Ellis family members moved on to
Williamsport, Indiana.

Hiram's docs mention that Lucinda Ellis married Robert McGunnigal,
he was killed in Big Bayou Pigeon Swamp, La buried at Franklin. She
died in 1857 at Franklin, left following children Colletta, Agatha,
William, Ralia. Per
http://www.indianainthecivilwar.com/rgmnt/16ind.htm
it looks like the 16th Indiana Regiment fought that battle. Because
a number of members of the Ellis amd Parker family (including Hiram)
moved to Indiana, I would assume that Robert McGunnigal would have
fought in an Indiana branch of the Union forces -- so this makes
sense.

What's interesting to me is that Robert McGunnigal was buried at
Franklin, LA -- the same town where Samuel E. and William Clark
Parker (and possibly others) moved to before the war. It also appears
that Lucinda Ellis moved to Franklin too, maybe after the war.

These are family history documents written in approximately 1911 by
Hiram Van Buren Parker (his bio is below the genealogy
information). The documents were discovered, in November 2001,
among the family history papers of Walter S. Parker and wife Mary
Emma Chalfant Parker, by Scott Parker (tropez99@...) who is in
possession of the originals. The transcriptions below were written
by Gloria Koehler, Hiram's granddaughter, in January and February of
2002.

exact spellings, and one of the relatives that have or will find

Hiram's Bio

Hi Scott:

Hiram did fight for the north, in fact it sounds like he was there
when Atlanta was surrounded. He was wounded and was in a prisoner of
war camp in Richmond, then was sent home and went back in to fight.
The document I was telling you about --The Soldiers and Sailors

years, and was mustered into the United States Service at
Indianapolis, Indiana, as a Private in Captain Levin T. Miller's
Company "K" Thirty Third Regiment Indiana Infantry Volunteers,

It's 600 pages plus. I just bought a copy from the Tioga County
Historical Society. I received this reprint today and I had no idea
this book was so large. There is a picture of James M. and Charles E.
Parker int eh book. I don't know if they are in our line though.

As indicated in our last newsletter, Theodore Parker, the grandson of
Captain John Parker was born in Waltham on August 24, 1810.

http://www.flora.org/rosaleen/geneal.html

Bertie Starratt's mother was a direct descendant of Captain John
Parker, a tall, large-framed militiaman, who was at the capture of
Louisburgh, 1758 and at the taking of Quebec, in 1759.. Elected
captain of militia in Lexington, he commanded the Minutemen there on
April 19, 1775.. His cousin, Jonas Parker, was the first man killed
in the American Revolution, having been bayonetted during the
skirmish which followed the confrontation between British regulars
and the local militia on the Common in Lexington, which lies on the
road to Concord, Massachusetts..

Captain John Parker was the one who said he did not wish for war,
but "if we must have war, let it begin here!".. In the early hours of
April 19, he placed his tiny force of less than eighty men out in the
open on the Lexington Common and gave the order that no one was to
fire until, or unless, they were themselves fired upon first..

Meanwhile, the advance party of the British force, a detachment of
light infantry under Col.. Pitcairn, moved on Lexington and made
contact with Parker's men on the Common.. Orders to the British
advance party were likewise not to fire unless fired upon..
Nevertheless, and it has never been ascertained by whom, a shot was
fired, and a general action ensued in which several militiamen were
killed and a number wounded.. The British, with some 800 men in the
field, then reformed ranks and proceeded to their objective, Concord,
where they destroyed some stores and military equipment, then started
the return march to Boston..

They were harried by the militiamen all the way back to Lexington and
British losses were starting to assume serious proportions when their
day was saved by British reinforcements from Boston, who mounted a
cannon on a hill behind Lexington and quickly reduced the
opposition.. During the battle Col.. Pitcairn was dislodged from his
horse, which cantered over to the militia lines.. Pitcairn's saddle
holsters and pistols were removed and given to General Israel Putnam,
who kept them for his own use throughout the war..

Captain John Parker led his men to Boston where they took part in the
Battle of Bunker Hill and the siege of Boston although Parker himself
was too ill to ride.. Shortly thereafter he died of tuberculosis..

Sorting out the Parker family, we found that somewhere in
Massachusetts, in the mid 1600s, Deacon Thomas Parker and his wife
Amy had a son, Hananiah Parker, whose son John Parker, married
Deliverance Dodge, and their eighth child was 8.. Lt Josiah Parker,
born April 11, 1694 at Reading, Massachusetts.. Josiah married Anna
Stone and one of their eight children was 6.. Captain John Parker IV,
born July 13, 1729, at Lexington, Massachusetts..

Captain John Parker married Lydia Moore, third daughter of Thomas and
Mary Moore of Lexington, Massachusetts.. Their daughter 5.. Ruth
Parker, born Dec.. 7, 1765, died March 12, 1838, was married on
November 14, 1787, to David Bent II, whose mother was Mary Felch,
daughter of Ebinezar Felch of Massachusetts..

The great great grandfather of David Bent II, was John Bent, who, in
1638, had embarked from Penton-Grafton, 70 miles south west of
London, England, on a journey which took him to Sudbury,
Massachusetts.. His son was Hopestill Bent, and Hopestill's son was
Micah Bent.. In 1737 Micah Bent married Grace Rice, daughter of David
Rice, and by 1760 they had settled in Bentville, Nova Scotia..

The youngest child of Ruth Parker and David Bent II was 7.. Rebecca
Bent, born 1800, who married Joseph Starratt on September 27, 1826
and one of their sons was 2.. George Starratt II, born March 1, 1829,
who married Mary Blackadore, daughter of Charles Blackadore, from the
United States, who was working at the dockyards in Halifax, Nova
Scotia in 1784 and for many years thereafter..

Subject: Tioga Historical Gazetteer and Directory
Hi Victoria:

I recently discovered that I have roots to Israel Ellis and
Frederick Parker in Tioga County. I am posting my research at
http://www.geocities.com/tropez99/apgenealogy.html

I attach a web site that mentions the "HisGazTiogaCo" and I'm
assuming that acronym references the Historical Gazetteer and
Directory.

I have found a lot of data on Ellis, such as that attached, but
nothing on Frederick Parker and I wonder if he is mentioned in the
Historical Gazetteer and Directory.

Do you know if the Historical Gazetteer and Directory has been
reprinted by the Historical Society or others? Are copies for sale
anywhere? I would love to get a copy.

Best regards and thank you,

Scott Parker

*****************************

Hi, here I am again. The book I am looking at and which my mother
bought for me when she visited Tioga County a couple of years ago is
the Historical Gazetteer and Directory of Tioga County New York,
1785-1888 complied and edited by W.B. Gay...
It is of course a reprinted edition, reprinted by the Tioga County
Historical Society and the book states their address as 110-112
Front Street Owego, NY
13827...
but let's make sure they are still there at that address--I
just contacted someone I think will know...and will let you know as
soon as I hear back...I also asked for an email and phone number for
them... if I remember, it is about 15 dollars or so, maybe a little
more, but a big book and definitely worth it...

FREDERICK PARKER: the reference to him occurs in this passage:
p.88 "The first town meeting was held at the house of Gilbert
Smith, April 27, 1824, when the following officers were elected:
Gilbert Smith, supervisor; John Crotsley, town clerk; Jonathan
Barnes, A.H. Schuyler and William Hanna, assessors; William Crans,
Frederick Parker, and John Glitner, commissioners of highways; John
Parker, constable and collector..."

Are there any other Parkers I can find for you? There are several
more in the index... Now let me look at your Ellis material...

Scott, what is your direct Ellis line? This directory is chock full
of Ellis'...there is a very interesting passage about Ebenezer I
will scan or type for you shortly...it has a bit more in it than
what's on your chart...

Just spoke to the Tioga County Historical Society--at 1-607-687-
2460...
the address I gave you is correct...I guess their website is down
because they had free space on a location that went bankrupt...
the book is 22.50, but with NY tax and shipping charges, you need to
send a whopping check for 27.18$ to them...with a short note
explaining what you're buying...best wishes, V.

A note on this: "Solomon Ellis (5.Jesse3, 2.Ebenezer2, 1.Israel1)
ref: Rootsweb, married Susan Slawson, born 1812, ref: Rootsweb, died
APR 10, 1874. Susan: The Roosweb file may have misspelled her name -
there were many Slossons in the area." I did find a Nathan Slawson
listed as among the first pioneers (1830-35) of what they
called "West Hill," northwest of Barton, and several Slawsons in the
index of the Gazetteer...Nathan may have been Susan Slawson's father?

I talked to my stepsister today (2/18/2002) and she said that my
grandmother, Mary Emma Chalfant Parker, used to often talk about
visiting in San Francisco during an earthquake in April 1906. She
must have been there visiting Parker relatives. Grandmother told my
brother, Jim Parker, "...we have relatives in San Francisco." This
would seem to confirm that she had contact with Hiram Parker or his
family previous to Hiram's creation of the family tree documents in
1911 or so. This would explain how Mary would have been "in the
loop" to receive the Hiram Document.

Navy Official Records:
Regards,
Gary [Matthews]

**********************************************************************
TO Flag-Officer D. G. FARRAGUT,
Commanding Western Division of Gulf Blockading Squadron.
U. S. S. HATTERAS,
Blockading Berwick Bay, May 12, 1862.
SIR: I send you the rebel steamer Governor A. Mouton, in charge of
Master [S. C.] Cruse and a prize crew, for such disposition as you
may choose to make of her. She will not carry fuel enough to carry
her to Key West, and may be useful to you or the army in the
Mississippi River.
I chased her on shore to the southward of my station last night, when
she was set on fire and all hands struck out up the beach and in
boats. I captured the latter, containing 1 passenger, mate, 2
engineers, cook, and 7 of the crew. A portion of these I send you
with a list and inventory of things found on board. The captain,
pilot, and clerk escaped. From all accounts there is but one more
steamer left that usually runs down this coast, and she, the
prisoners tell me, is now repairing up the Sabine; two others have
lately been wrecked on the coast.
I hope it will be convenient for you to send my officer and prize
crew back soon, as I am very short of officers and men and have
several prisoners on board without any marines to look after them.
I have seen nothing of the Rhode Island, and will ask you to forward
my mail with yours to the United States.
I am, very respectfully, your obedient servant,
GEO. F. EMMONS,
Commander.

*************************************************************
TO: Hon. GIDEON WELLES,
Secretary of the Navy, Washington, D. C.

U. S. S. HATTERAS,
Blockading Berwick Bay, May 12, 1862.
SIR: Not meeting the mail steamer Rhode Island, I have had no
opportunity to communicate with the flag officer until to-day. Having
captured the rebel steamer Governor A. Mouton, from Sabine Pass,
bound to Berwick Bay with some freight on board, I dispatched her to
the Mississippi Passes, in charge of a prize crew, for such
disposition as the flag-officer may think proper to make of her. She
is not a proper sea boat, and only carries about three days' fuel.
I hear of two others wrecked down the coast, and the prisoners tell
me that the only remaining one running out of Berwick is now up the
Sabine River repairing.
I am, very respectfully, your obedient servant,
GEO. F. EMMONS,
Commander.

Hi
was suprised to get this message and some of the names on page 4 are
parts of the family that I am related too. In my records, I have an
Ebenezer Ellis, that would be my 4 greats grandfather, his son
Alexander would be my 3 greats grandfather, his son Ira Day Ellis
would be my 2 greats grandfather, his daughter Cora Lucretia Ellis
Brink would be my great grrandmother, her son Ira Ellis would be my
grandfather and his daughter Louise Brink Tribe would be my mother.
My maiden name was Tribe. The father of this Ebenezer Ellis would be
an Israel Ellis and this is where my info starts. When you go into
the Tioga County info and the Emory Chapel is mentioned that is where
my grandparents Ira and Florence Harding Brink are buried. Florence
Harding came from the Talmadge Hill area of Waverly and they owned a
green house business on Ellistown Road for about 50 years. My ex and
I lived on some of that property.

Hello everyone:

Gloria Koehler came across an interesting document over a decade ago.
It described Hiram's war service in the Civil War. He was fighting
for the Union for the Indiana 33rd. The document also described
Hiram's grandfather's Revolutionary War Service. Hiram is Gloria and
Bea's grandfather. The Revolutionary War Hero's name was Elishama
Tozier. So he was Gloria and Bea's Great Great Grandfather. So in the
past decade Gloria and her daughter Mary (formerly known as Ellen, I
use my first name now) began researching our ancestral roots and came
up with quite a bit of information which we will share with your in
these messages. However, the neatest information we came up with is a
long lost cousin in the name of Scott Parker who lives in Atlanta,
Georgia. Hiram' father was named John and John had a brother named
Frederick and Frederick is who Scott is descended from. Scott's e-
mail address is tropez99@.... There seems to be some
interesting similarities between us all, including which
unfortunately I do not possess, the love of invention which Gloria
and Bea's father Bruce and of course our Uncle Bruce, Gloria and
Bea's brother have inherited. Any other inventors out there? Scott
has directed us to an incredible amount of Web sites and in fact has
created his own which supplies our family history.

In these e-mail's I will guide you through the three major lines -
Ellis, Parker, and Tozer. Please respond with any insight, comments,
additions, etc.. Just so you aren't confused, Israel Ellis married
Betsey, they had Ebenezer who married Betsey McCullough, they had
Ebenezer Jr. who married Eunice McCullough who had Lizzie Ellis who
married John Parker on our side while on Scott' side John's brother
Frederick married Nancy Ellis. John's son was Hiram who married
Arletta Francis. Their youngest son Bruce was the father of Bruce,
Bea, Margie, and Gloria. On Scott's side Frederick and Nancy had
Samuel, who ultimately fought in the Civil War for the Confederacy.
That was Scott's great grandfather. Scott was able to piece his
connection to our part of the family because he had a twelve page
family tree that Hiram wrote out in the early 1900's for his cousin's
family. I put a query on Roots.com about the Ellis-Parker connection
and Scott responded, not really certain who Hiram was, so here we are
one week later!!

From The History of Waverly, New York - Page 200 "Descendents of
Israel and Betsey Ellis (1) Ellis, Israel, b. 1735, probably in
England, settled first in Connecticut then the territory of Wyoming,
near Forty-Fort, Pennsylvania, and finally followed his son,
Ebenezer, to Barton. Shortly after he spent a lengthy visit with his
son, Conway, in Canada, returning to Barton, where he died and was
buried in an old cemetery, near the old gravel pit on the Milltown
Rd. In later years workmen at that pit unearthed his bones, together
with his wife's and three other persons, but neglected to preserve
the. Israel m. Betsy Issue: Conway, Ebenezer, William, Jesse, Samuel
and probably others." Ebenezer is who we are descended from.
Interestingly, Conway was a Tory while Samuel fought in the
Revolutionary War. "Ebenezer was the original pioneer of Barton
Township and Nichols township, coming to the former from his Forty
Fort home in 1787, and removing to the latter in 1791. His sons,
William and Alexander, were the first white children born in these
respective townships. He made the first cabin, and planted and
harvested the initial crops, in Barton. With his brother, Samuel, who
joined him in 1795, he erected and operated the first sawmill. It is
from him that the community now called Ellistown, and its watering
stream: upon whose banks, he built his sawmill; Ellis Creek, derive
their names. Deeply religious he became a member of the first
Methodist class in that locality, in 1805. This class later became
the nucleus of Emory Chapel. Ebenezer was born in 1765, died
November 5, 1836, married Betsy McCullogh,(McCullough) (a sister of
Margaret (Mrs. John) Hanna) born 1769, died March 10, 1842. Issue
Samuel, Jesse, Conwell, Abigail, Barbara, William, Alexander,
Benjamin, Elizabeth, and four others, who died in infancy. " From the
book Our Country and Its People on page 83 it states, "John Parker
settled in Ellistown," name later changed to Barton" at an early
date. He married Lizzie Ellis, by whom he had seven children, viz.:
Frederick, Henry, Clark, James, Hiram, Caroline and Abby.

From Our Country and Its People Page 323, "In the southwest corner
of Tioga county, with the Pennsylvania state line on the south, and
Chemung line on the west, is one of the most important civil
divisions of the county, known by the name of Barton, but why so
named and called in the erecting act, or by the early settlers, is a
question never satisfactorily answered in local annals. This is not
an important question in Barton history, and the present writer feels
disposed to accept the theory advanced by the most recent chronicler
of local events. However it is a well known and conceded fact that
during the twenty-five years next following the close of the
revolution all names which were distinctively English were very
obnoxious to the victorious Americans, and there was a marked
tendency on the part of legislative authority, and of the settlers in
general, to repudiate all things strictly English and to accept only
that which would not suggest any complimentary allusion to the mother
country: but as to what may have been the spirit which actuated the
power that named this town Barton cannot be told. This much is
true: It was a good name, worthily bestowed, and the town now so
called is one of the very best in this old and historic shire.

The physical features and characteristics of Barton are not
strikingly dissimilar to those of other towns; the same general
rolling condition of the land surface prevails, but unlike others,
Barton has the two grand waterways, The Susquehanna and Chemung
rivers, the one on the southeast and the other on the southwest
border. Then, too, Cayuga and Ellis Creeks, have their courses
almost wholly within the town, affording facilities for perfect
drainage not enjoyed by all the civil divisions of the county. In the
valleys of the streams are some of the most fertile and productive
farming lands in the entire region...": from page 332: Pioneer
Ebenezer Ellis built the first dwelling house, and harvested the
first crops raised in the town. Alexander, son of Ebenezer Ellis,
was the first white child born in Barton. Ebenezer and Samuel Ellis
built the first saw mill, on Ellis Creek. On page 333 Frederick
Parker is listed as a Commissioner of the Highways, and John Parker
is listed as Constable and Collector in 1824.

Remember the Ellis, Parker, Tozier connection from same book page 666
Waverly and Town of Barton: Elisha Tozer came from the east to Barton
and settled on Shepard Creek about the year 1800. He was a captain in
the Revolution. He took up a lot of wild land, built a log house,
cleared up a farm from the original forest, and was a farmer and
lumberman all his days.

I hope everyone enjoyed. Until next time....

Two facts:

The census below says Frederick (I can't tell if this was Frederick
Jr. or Frederick Sr., but I think it's Jr. because I know Jr. was
married to Nancy Ellis)was from Vermont.

1850 Warren County, Indiana census:

32 122 124 Ellis Celesta 18
F NY

33 122 124 Ellis Ebenezer 14
M Ohio

34 122 124 Ellis Nancy 9
F Ohio

41 79 80 Parker Fredrick 55 M
Farmer 500 Vt

42 79 80 Parker Nancy 47
F NY

And...

Hiram Parker's documents state that:

"Frederick Parker married Elizabeth Tozer [or Tozier?] He died in
Vermont. His wife died about 1842 in Williamsport, Indiana"

Is this definitive proof that Frederick Sr. was from Vermont? Should
we be looking for Frederick Sr. and his parents in Vermont grave
yards?

I placed a parkerellis.GED file in the file cabinet. IT is a single
GED file that attempts to encompass all families. But since the
Ellis'males married Parker females, and Ellis females married Parker
males, the GED file "comes back on itself" -- it's stuck in a loop.
Therefore, separate GED files need to be made for each family: Ellis
and Parker.

I have a family history pretty well back to Israel Ellis born in 1785
probably in England. Moved to Barton, NY from Wyoming, PA where he
died in 1795. He was married to a Betsy ?. This would be my great-
great-great-great-great grandfather. He had 5 sons. Conway, Ebenezer,
William, Jesse and Sameul and maybe others. Ebenezer is next in line
in my direct family. Israel Ellis is the one that I cannot trace back
any further.

A book on the history and genealogy of the Tozer (Tozier) family, and

Monica: I am sure we have a match. Guy was in the War of 1812 with
his father, Julius and his brother Samuel. You might want to check
DAR records on this. I have details in father's file as
follows: "Betty Sharp" <gnlgybty@...>

Bob - I compared the information you had on the children of Julius
and it is the same. I have a copy of the bio of Julius off of
GenForum. I have been researching Tozers since 1977 to have compiled
lots of information and would be glad to share what I have. I am
really concentrating on Elishama as he is my direct line. There is so
much available on Julius. I had been corresponding with Ruth Tozer
Bixby of Athens, Pa. she was a descendant of Joel Murray Tozer, son
of Julius. In 1992 I was in Athens but did not get to visit Ruth. I
was traveling with 3 other people and had just a little time for
genealogy. We did take pictures of the Rest Cemetery. Many years ago
Ruth
did some drawing of tombstones at North Waverly and Rest cemeteries.

I came across a book "Sketches of McKean, Thomas, Tozer and Wilson
Families" by Geo. E. Bushnell. He has a very complete rundown on
Julius's family. I only copied pgs 45-54. The book was at the Fort
Wayne Genealoogy Library. All I had on Susan was birth date, and the
names of her husbands.
Here is what Bushnell has on her.......
child #10..Susan Tozer, b. Athens, Penna. 4 Mar 1804, md. lst.
William Rice; md. 2nd James Weed.
Children 1, probably (i.Martha Jane Rice. (no number assigned).
(Note: it is probable that the only child of the first marriage was
the lst wife of David Walker (Jr) of Ottawa, Ills., who md. lst. a
Martha Jane Rice, by whom he had three children, George Lee Walker,
Julia Mariana Walker, and Will Douglas Walker; David Walker, md 2nd,
Lucy (35) Tozer, whom family tradition states was a cousin of his lst
wife: David Walker also had two older sisters, both of whom married
into the Weed family, viz:Keziah Walker, who md. Edmund Weed, and
Malinda Walker who
md. ________Weed.)

Have you ever run into any information on Elishama Tozer? He also
served in the Revoultionary War but was living in Washington County,
N.Y. , near the Vermont border. He came to Waverly probably about
1800.

I will be happy to share any of my other info.........Betty

"Julius Tozer, a brother-in-law of Jonathan Harris, was born at
Colchester, June 16, 1764, and before the war went with his father
and family to Wyoming. After the battle they returned to Connecticut,
where Julius, although but a lad, enlisted in the service. After the
war he married, at Colchester, Hannah Conklin, daughter of Ananias
Conklin, who was born Oct. 7, 1784. In 1791 they came to Exeter, in
Luzerne Co., and in 1794 to Athens. Mr. Tozer was elected colonel of
a regiment in the militia of this State, and during the War of 1812
he raised a company, of which he was captain and served through that
war, two of his sons, Samuel and Guy, accompanying him. His children
were Hannah, born Oct. 4, 1788; Alice, March 5, 1789 - Elizabeth R.,
Aug. 28, 1791; Samuel, Aug. 1, 1792; Julius,
March 7, 1794; Lucy, Jan. 25, 1796; Dorothy, Jan. 28, 1798; Guy,
March 7, 1799; Albert, May 30, 1801 ; SUSAN, March 1, 1803; Joel
Murray, Aug. 11, 1805; Mary Ann, June 21, 1807; and Cynthia, May 1,
1809. Col. Tozer died Dec. 7, 1852, and his wife died March 5, 1832."

I did a Google/Yahoo search for Parker Coat of Arms and found several
coats of arms. The search is

http://google.yahoo.com/bin/query?p=parker+coat+of+arms&hc=0&hs=0

But be advised that coats of arms were assigned to blood lines within
surnames (possibly scores of differnt lines within the surname),
There is no single coat of arms for the Parker, or any other surname.

I'll post the first message as a sample. I would like to cut and
paste some of the family history info from Mary and Gloria's earlier
letters in here. Or, please post the data yourselves if you like
ladies.

One can keyword search all the messages in the whole darn site for a
name or place or whatever. All the messages will be indexed on the
Google.com search engine as well so that others, during their web
searches, will come across the names and places important to us.
